i dislike ysgol brynhyfryd with a passion. disgusting place , it is built like a prison, and should be called ysgol bigback, i never get any food from the canteen it is all eaten by the time i get there. before you mention "just go earlier" i am unallowed. it is so bad i wish to give it a -♾️ yet thats impossible, therefore i give it 1 star.
horrible school, the bullying there is completely out of hand and the lessons are so so so disruptive, many pupils education has been ruined because of this school. they need to improve, the majority of the staff there are shit and should NOT be working with children, they scream and the top of their lungs at children give them red cards for absolutely stupid reasons. this school is unacceptable, so much homophobia and racism. children should not have to deal with that. it ruins peoples lives, oftern leads to suicide. it is a very bad school and it needs to be fixed. children are being given detentions for forgetting their blazer? then they are forced to wear blazers in boiling hot weathers. it is ridiculous. i will not be suggesting this school for the other people in my family. there are some staff who are lovely and they care about you and make you feel safe, however, most of the staff, are horrible and scream at innocent students for NO reason and make them feel uncomfortable and scared when at school. they hardly do anything for those students who are struggling a lot mentally, and do not help them. the most they do is pull you out of classes and ask you questions that make you feel extremely uncomfortable and thats all they do. the girls bathrooms are a disgrace they are absolutely disgusting and they stink so so bad. its like they don't even clean there. and people are podded for ridiculous reasons such as having fun BECAUSE THEY ARE ALLOWED TO!!! when there are pupils in this school being homophobic and racist and bullying others and fighting people and vaping who dont get into any trouble.
Rubbish school. They have very disruptive lessons and don’t do anything about it the teachers talk half the time about other things instead of actually teaching and the bullying there is awful and they do nothing about it but they keep saying they will but it never happens they just make every child miserable and expect them to work hard when they are really sad and no one listens to the children there even though it says no learning with out a voice on the stupid uniform and the school building is filthy and the B corridor rooms are all covered in layers of dust and filth and the walls are all peeling away and most of the bathrooms have kicked in doors and toilet roll everywhere and broken locks and they are working on some stupid new canolvan just so they can have a teachers lounge or something and they also took away drama but most students now want to take it because it’s a fun lesson but they clearly don’t care about anyone’s future at the school and they only focus on the people they like in lessons and don’t ever bother to try and help anyone else. So I think it’s safe to say that ysgol brynhyfryd is a horrible place that needs to be shut down it’s an awful school.
I am a sixth form student in my last year in Brynhyfryd. I did years 7-9 and 12-13 in Brynhyfryd and in those three and a half years (three and a half due to covid) that I have spent here it's been a good experience. the lessons are fun, the teachers are nice and easy to work with and the support staff are very kind and helpful for the students. the one downside I would say (which is totally based on my personal experience) would be that as much as the support staff are lovely and helpful they are slightly understaffed with only around 5-10 full or part-time helpers for all the year groups. would I recommend it as a good school... I don't know. But this is my opinion. I would like to apologise for any grammar and spelling mistakes that i may have made.
Tbh, quite good. In terms of grades the school’s pretty good and there’s no denying that the teachers work hard but in terms of wellbeing it does feel like they’re doing it (literally) by the book, we get shown a five minute video on something like drugs and then the school will claim to “prepare you for the real world” although personally I don’t really care. They’re good at monitoring grades and progress and things like chair throwing and fights are rare. If you want to do all your subjects in welsh then you’re probably better off going to a fully welsh one since the school doesn’t seem bothered about hiring welsh teachers, meaning that some subjects aren’t available in welsh, although the views are nice
