This school is the WORST. The uniform is super strict, and not having something as simple as a tie can get you a detention. The food is also overpriced and is poor quality, with cases of burgers being raw. Most of the teachers just read off PowerPoint slides, and can't control the class. Some of the teachers are even biased against some students. In my ~2.5 years of being here, I have never had a good time here. You're even better off going to Chaucer than here. Do not go here.
Dawg this goofy ahh school is terrible like dawg the teachers are absolute shit who hires them plus in uo4 there is no blinds so it’s blinding us all ffs 😭🙏🙏 pls go somewhere else I beg it’s not worth it 😭 most of the people don’t even put on deodorant 💀
value the uniform over kids education i have just been excluded for not putting my blazer on in 22 degree heat they have no air con either so many more issues with this school
going here was by far the worst years of my life. Got serverly bullied for 4 years and teachers did nothing about it and let it continue. Teachers did not help with work or exams. They also didn't give support to mentally disabled students who found the work hard, would not recommend this school to ANYBODY in any universe.
The school has many good aspects but also many of the opposite. As a student I think the school could be alot better. Subjects are great and are fun but rules of the academy are not as great. Having to be escorted to the toilet is pretty embarrassing to say the least even if, as a girl, it isn't your fault. Sometimes in the school it doesn't feel as safe and issues don't get solved as you would like them to and you still don't feel safe. The school don't really do much about your problems and issues. Mental health support isn't really the best as half of the time they don't really do anything. Overall I think this school could be alot better.
I sent my child here in 2017 and I was absolutely disgusted by how the staff treated the students especially my son. We stuck with the school because we wanted to give it a chance. Now writing this in 2021 where my son is in Year 11, the most important year of his education, he is receiving no help even though he has attended the 'period 5' lessons after school. He has told me that he attends them and the teachers just give them work sheets and walk off, no helping anybody else! I am not satisfied with this school one bit. I do not feel my son is safe at this school. If the school finds out one of their pupils is bullying another they would just sweep it under the carpet. Don't get me started on the food, on day in 2018 my son had a burger from the canteen and at around 1:30pm I got a phone call from the school telling me to come pick him up. Once I got down to the school he was literally green and with a bucket next to him. Once we got home he wouldn't stop vomiting that's when I took him to the children's hospital. They told us it was food poisoning from the raw burger's. From that day on I made sure to provide him with packed lunches. In 2021 the school added new expectations but to be honest it's embarrassing for example, not beinging a pen you get a 10 minute detention! At one point my son had suffered with a broken foot and leg. The p.e staff made him change into his p.e kit (which he didn't have on him) or get a 10 minute detention. In the end I just picked him up from school and he continued his learning online until his leg and foot got better. The pandemic hit all of us financially so you would think they would ease on the uniform but no they want to charge £28 for a blazer and £5 for a tie! Also nearly £10 for a p.e top. Its ridiculous. In conclusion save yourself and your child of the stress and find a different school.
Proper class school, I don’t mean for education cus there were literally no teachers. But for personality and social skills it’s amazing. By the end EVERYONE gets along. Made so many friends and had no bad experiences once I settled in. ** ****** is my guy since day 1. Wanna go back because it was the funniest and best years of my life. Oh yeah and the food is BANGING.
I attended this school 2 years ago and was the worse experience of my life, staff was extremely rude did not respect any of the students and could most definitely not control a classroom. The principal at the time and the Senior Leadership Team did absolutely nothing about this and don't get me started on bullying! Most of the year 7/8's were severely bullied not only by students but by staff members as well! I was absolutely appalled with the quality of the food, they served raw burgers, literally pink in the middle, more than once! I stuck with the school and passed all my GCSE'S without ANY help from the teachers. Yewlands Academy I will not be sending my kids to you as the way I was disrespect and treated was disgusting!
