I used to go to this school and the teachers there aren’t the best. I remember in year 4 the teacher stopped the whole class and pulled the head master in all because someone had drawn a smiley face on a rubber. And if you weren’t one of the teachers favourites (The bright kids) you won’t be getting much support that year. One of the worst things I think they did was that every morning you would have to write down 4 times tables in a minute, and you would then have to say how well you did in-front of everyone. And if it wasn’t bad enough you would then get criticised by the teacher for not being smart enough. If your kid has some sort of disability like adhd, dyslexia, autism etc please don’t send them here. They have no support for them and just treat them as if their ‘bad behaved’ kids. I have auditory processing disorder and my year 4 teacher would always kick me out of the class for not listening and after my parents told them about this they still supplied no support to me and still treated me differently to the other kids. The dinner ladies were being payed to sit down and have a chat, if a kids getting bullied I’m remember them just them telling us to ‘play nicely’ and you can tell they don’t watch us because in year to a kid climbed over the fence and stared running around on the main road. The kid moved out of the school (rightfully done by his parents) and after all that there wasn’t as much as a warning for the dinner ladies. I don’t know if this is for all welsh schools but your breaks would be taken off you if you spoke a word of English. But it’s even worse that you learn everything in welsh. Now that may sound fine until you realise that your kid won’t be able to answer any question in English. If you are thinking of sending your kid here I highly recommend you don’t and send them to an English school, but if your mind is set on a welsh school then send them to gartholwg instead.
