I can’t rate this school highly enough, they have done so much to help both my son and daughter. My daughter gained so much confidence during her time at Xp East and passed all her GCSEs despite really struggling in her primary school. If you are wanting a school for your child that really cares about their wellbeing and isn’t just an exam factor than I would chose Xp every time.
I have 2 children attend xp east. They are both thriving. Skills learn that in my opinion other schools do not teach. They are respectful students and know how to carry themselves in all aspects of life. They regular go on field trips and carry out activities outside. Parents are invited to school often to watch presentations of learning, informal drops in etc. Communication with teachers is excellent. Respond to any queries and questions very quickly. My only negative is my children though not picky eaters dislike the lunch time set up.
The school doesn't live up to what was promoted at the open evenings and on the website. Communication is extremely poor to parents, no indication of how child is progressing at school, crew leaders don't make contact with parents to update how child is doing, activities that were supposed to be part of the curriculum don't happen. Outdoor learning doesn't take place for the majority of children and some GCSE's are self taught by the students, there are limited GCSE options. Children miss out on opportunities such as local careers events that other schools attend. A lack of discipline overall in the school means some children disrupt lessons for those who want to learn .
