Woodside High School

Horrible school with no order. Limitations put onto the year 11s and making false promises. Constant screaming at the student and always putting stress on us too. Gifting my year groups photos away for no apparent reason, leaving us with unprofessional photos for our year book. When asked why, they have no excuse and blame it on us. They don't follow their own 'shared values' and it's become nothing short of a prison. They expect the year 11s to attend school on strike days, which nothing is learned as the majority of the teachers are striking. It's a waste of time. They act as if we only go to school, do homework and revise. They leave students with no free time for themselves and ridicule us at every expense. The constant fighting and the continuous changes made to the school schedule only aim to punish the whole school in the end. With this being said, the headteacher is not fit to run the school, with one of the depuy heads telling girls off about their uniform when she wears skin tight clothes with a skirt of the same length. Confiscation of jewelry is always happening, while the teachers glam up. Overall the school is overcrowded and unorganized. I would never recommend that you send your child here if you want them to have a sense of freedom and self-respect. The school pries these from you and will lie directly to your face without a second thought.

in my opinion this school is going well but some down falls such as in the year 7 area there is plenty of fights and in the school building the lessons are fun and entertaining but the students are flicking bullets-paper bullets around the classroom I’m not saying I dislike them doing it but it’s very fun the teacher says who did that and does nothing about it and in computer science the teacher said your staying back 20-10m for the whole class it’s kinda ruined the “fun”

the so called family in this school is not working out for the most part people vape in the toilets and teachers-members of staff do nothing about it

I’m a student and I’ve gotten bullied but apparently I CaNT dO SeLF defence this man hit my head so much I almost got brain damage like I let him I try too but obviously I’m weak so I can’t do anything the teachers are totally dead they do nothing but like remove remove and you can win a computer???? Lunch per day is like 4£ if you don’t eat the pizza you starve and teachers are like when you get sick your not sick your lying 🤥 and when I’m able the medic is oh no no your not sick put this on your head and after like 10 seconds she like you can go like what

I am a year 10 student at the school and I would just like to say that the level of education and respect given to students by staff is extremely low, my English teacher who is also the headteacher of the school, seems to lack the capability to discipline the class, which means that the students who wish to excel do not get to and when I told her this, she said that I was being rude and then got the entire English department on my tail which just shows me that she really doesn't know how to take student feedback in a critical way. I told her that her inability to discipline a class really shows whether she should be the Headteacher or not.

Called up about an issue I had in which I needed to talk to my child’s head of year and was told they would give me a call back. I then proceeded to let the receptionist know I don’t receive messages from the school (second time I’ve mention this when I’ve called up) and her response was that’s a good thing isn’t it. The receptionist attitude and professionalism is appalling.The teachers abuse their power and take a disliking to children when they are paid to treat them fairly. I don’t know any parent with good things to say about the school. Also anytime my child has an issue with his login to get his homework done none of the teachers actually help him with this, I understand they are busy but they then go and punish them for not doing it but are not willing to help them with the issue as to why they can’t do it.
