Winton Community Academy

Ever since the new Senior Leadership Team (SLT) arrived at Winton Academy in September 2023, I have been pleasantly surprised by the positive changes that have been made. Managing a school of this magnitude must be challenging, especially when attempting to alter people's viewpoints.
Regrettably, the Academy faced difficulties over the past few years, resulting in multiple changes in leadership. Despite receiving a favorable rating in their recent Ofsted evaluation, there is still progress needed to reach an outstanding status.
I firmly believe that, with the backing of parents, Winton Academy has the potential to achieve excellence.

Abysmal secondary school.. poor communication, inability to communicate effectively to different types of children from different walks of life.
Give detentions, isolations and exclusions at the drop of a hat, bark orders at the children rather than try to have connected conversations.
Outlandish policies on using the bathroom; especially difficult if your child has any type of additional need such as ADHD which can lead to them forgetting to use the toilet or for girls going through their periods. I am aware of so many unhappy children and parents - there is not “community” about Winton such a shame it is going down hill and fast

Hi, I go to this school. It's great. Except from the cameras inside loo and the pe teachers entering the lockers. One time the police came for a mischievous teacher.

Ladybugs literally in every classroom, the most unhygienic school ever

Students are direspectful and staff treat you like your an inferior infant.

As it stands, I'm currently being bullied. I have spoken to a teacher about this and got moved into another class with someone who is now saying I posted child porn somewhere and constantly getting the class to blame me for things I never did essentially getting me into trouble for no reason. My Philosophy teacher is VERY powerhungry and LAUGHED after he got 2 people in trouble and wouldn't give them a reason. They cant collaborate well as it took them 7 days to enable my account again after the head teacher ended up asking the ICT team "multiple times" which also meant I couldn't do any work or know where I had to go. Keep in mind it was confirmed someone else was the cause of my account being disabled. Not me. Back onto bullying this school is built on lies. It felt like there was an attempt at gaslighting me into thinking bullying isn't a problem and it was a one-time thing. Yet all of my family was bullied when they went there. They can't even admit to bullying and say that it's only 2% of the school. I don't feel welcome here and will be asking to go back to Harrow Way.

hello. Im a sped student and a teacher stuck a vape up my bum because i cried cuz he said i wasn’t allowed to play da hood, rob-lox (education game about economics, safety, community, and law) in class! He then called me the n word!

This school sucks! A teacher called me, someone with Down syndrome, a DOWNIE, and a TACO EATER! Because i originate from mexico! Not okay! Dont send your child here.

Kinda a bad school
Took 3 years to deal with a bullying situation then they never fully dealt with another one kinda just graduated and left

Don't get me wrong some teacher great others no absolutely terrible.

Was suspended for being bullied that's a joke
Cuz it was easier for me to not be there than to expel the group of bullies.
I could go on but cba

After moving from an outstanding Secondry school to this one I am said to say it just couldn’t compare, unfortunately it had many issues and in my opinion didn’t care about all of the students and dealt with things the wrong way.
