There has been a comment with regards to discrimination which I cannot refute.
After my previous employment with this organisation I am not convinced that even though they outwardly promote racial equality some of the actions exhibited leaves a question mark as to if this is just a ticking of the box exercise( Inspections etc) rather than the practice of staff members, especially in management roles.
After my experiences I would not apply or work with this organisation ever again and have advised any potential applicants/ students of colour to bear it in mind, also to speak to others to get an idea of what to expect prior to working or enrolling on a course, if possible.
I was bullied by security staff who racially discriminated against me. They refused to allow me to use a disabled parking space, despite me having a blue badge and notifying the college that I am disabled. The managers refused to assist me to exit the college if there was a fire telling me to make my own arrangements in an emergency. They allowed me to be bullied by staff. Instead of meeting their legal obligation to be accessible to all students, they chose to force me to leave by discriminating against me.
AVOID THIS COLLEGE IF YOU ARE OF COLOUR OR DISABLED. IF YOU ARE NOT EASTERN EUROPEAN OR INDIAN THEY WILL TREAT YOU LIKE DIRT.
This college has done brilliantly in keeping both staff and students safe from COVID. Masks must be worn at all times whilst walking through corridors and if youre not wearing one you will be reminded. All classes are set out to be socially distanced as well as the canteen(all tables have been removed and all food must be taken and eaten outside, and there is distances markers clearly placed in the waiting line.) All students are designated a “breakout zone” assigned to their course to keep in bubbles and anyone out of those zones will be encouraged to go to them. I feel very safe in this college.
