Awful,im a student and ive been struggling bad with mental health and self harm, they do not care about it not just for me for anyone they dont help with bullying which ive been struggling with since i started there, they constantly pick on students and is just over all ruined me.Since ive been there my grades have significantly gone down. They have picked on every one of my siblings and now me.Would not recommend too anyone
Wouldnt recommend this school, a good majority of the teachers are too busy caring about the schools image to actually deal with the problems that the students have to deal with on a daily basis (bullying, peer pressure, etc just to name a few). The headteacher is nowhere to be seen when needed, personal hygiene after PE is disgusting, (they make students sit in their PE kit all day after doing an hour or two of it, sweating), teachers abuse their power in terms of the "C System", handing them out like free samples to students that havent done anything wrong whatsoever. The food from the cafeteria is way too expensive, (£1 for a miniscule slice of pizza) and the quality is awful. Students physically cant learn anything in lessons because the teachers are bullies, so they mostly turn to vaping in the toilets, (which the staff dont care about), they do not care whatsoever about extra educational needs, mostly sending them out of the lesson with a C4 (1 Hour Detention) instead of actually attempting to help them.
I found that when my youngest girl was at Whitecross, she was constantly told to pull her skirt down and even man handled by one of the female staff members whe trying to pull it down. I see how short the skirts are now and it makes me angry that they singled out my daughter and then let others get away with having a short skirt. The skirts they wear now are very short, shorter than what my daughter used to wear. The Headmaster I feel sees what he wants to see. Education is fine if your child finds it easy to learn, but if they struggle, I find the school isn't too bothered about them. Lack of understanding also on eating dissorders and children with anxiety. I could go on about my experiences with some of the staff but can't see the point, as nothing will change.
This school was absolutely radical.
I loved Drama, I loved Art, and I loved Music with Mrs Z Brittlebank.
Her music lessons taught me so much about music and I came here to thank her.
Like, legit, thank you so much, not sarcastic.
Genuinely fantastic school, although they should get better at handling the bullying.
Absolutely brilliant, i'd rate it a 6/5 if i could
In my experience, this school was absolutely brilliant,
The headteacher, Mr Knapp (Tim-Tim as some called him) is absolutely brilliant, and is also spectacular at teaching drama.
Our form tutor unfortunately had to leave halfway through the year, but after she left we had Miss Dunton - whose name I could never spell right - she is amazing and inclusive and I think I would literally die for her, and her science lessons.
Mrs Brittlebank also led to me falling in love with music, which I can't thank her enough for, and Miss Gromadzki was an excellent PSHE/Art teacher
Miss Bateson, along with Mr Kerr, have to got to be two of the best teachers at this school, and that says a lot, considering all of the teachers are great!
Mark Finch emanated some quite peculiar energy, but he's somewhat nice and relaxed when you get to know him - I also love his art
I also recommend giving Mr Bridgewater a small badge stating, "stand-up comedian!" all jokes aside, his jokes made mathematics fun to learn, and actually made learning around him easier, he knows the right time to focus, and the right time to have a laugh with his students.
(We once finished our lesson earlier than expected, but we couldn't cover the next lesson as that involved a task that would take longer than the 10 minutes remaining of class, so we ended up just ranting about and discussing the Darwin awards)
Thank you to Ms Peppiatt for helping me to accept and understand religions, along with her funny misunderstandings. (Pigs with aids!)
Thank you to Miss Price for being the first teacher to make me feel truly welcome.
Thank you to Mrs Richardson for making Spanish memorable and fun.
Thank you to Mrs Horne for inviting me to be friends with Fardin, the new student, and for teaching me the most romantic language in the world (French)
This school was amazing to attend, i'd rate it a 6/5 if i could
My time at this school has been terrible. at the beginning of year 7 it was okay, aside from the bullying that i had reported numerous times and had had nothing done whatsoever about it. Year 8, the bullying got worse and i had reported it twice.
Year 9, the kids in my year were threatening me and my friends, saying they were gonna beat us up or throw us into the alley and kick me on the way home from school. The school knew about this. Nothing happened and they said that I did something to deserve the grief so I'm just going to get grief.
Although i have nothing bad whatsoever to say about the teachers as they were all lovely and kind, as well as perfect teachers that helped me to learn so much.
Oh and i mnow its difficult to not get hair to fall out your hairnets, but i really don't understand how they get hair in the food so often. my friend found 2 in one meal and another in a different meal.
So I am a current student doing my Gcse's. I would recommend this school to anyone, Unless you have mental health issues. This school is not helpful in supporting students with these issues. I suffer with severe anxiety and the school has only helped it go down hill. The school were quite helpful at the start when my problems weren't as bad but as soon as they got worse they practically gave up. I understand the school can only do so much but there is things possible for the to help. This school has taken away my future by not giving me a proper chance at my exams. Unless you are the perfect teachers pet of a student I wouldn't bother.
On too some of the limited positives, of course i didn't go into detail about the list of bad things this school has done but I will list some of the positives for those still considering this place. Most of the teachers here are lovely the teachers aren't the problem its the other staff members. The teachers are or at least seem to be really interested in helping students reach there absolute best {Ofc if they are a teachers pet otherwise they may be different}. Quite a lot of the teachers understand mental health better than others. The timetable when i first got to the school in 2017 was brilliant, easy to follow and made the students feel secure. The timetable now is longer which means draining mentally more there.
In conclusion I will just say the school only care about there ofstead report and how there records look. So please keep that in mind before attending.
Half the teachers who go to work there have a deeply hidden superiority complex which they refuse to admit they have and the other half of the teachers are decent as long as you follow their instructions as if you were going there from your own free will.If you wear a hoodie, despite the temperature of the buildings being freezing, you will be greeted to a day's worth of isolation since the hoodie violates the schools rules and regulations.
