I went to this college for a few months but most of the time was spent waiting on pointless meetings that got nowhere and I'm convinced they knew this. The work given isn't thought through or challenging and the management staff don't seem interested in hearing out any complaints or listening to students. Instead they try to gaslight and manipulate you into just going along with it so they don't have to address the problem. The staff don't treat students with respect and talk down to them as if they're still in primary school. Staff members have also made insensitive and inappropriate comments such as doubting my anxiety and calling me "too dramatic" and told me I had "no evidence" even after telling them I did they still insisted I didn't have any evidence. They were effectively calling me a liar. It was only when I started pulling my phone out of my pocket to show them that they then refused to see the evidence and moved on to something else. The gaslighting, manipulation and belittling is not worth your mental health. The only way you'll make it through this college is by keeping your head down and not bothering the staff even if you have complaints however I don't think its worth the mental toll. If you do have a serious complaint and you feel the college is ignoring you don't believe them when they tell you the only way is to complain to the college because that simply isn't true.
It has great support with a Student Lounge upstairs and a really cute assistance dog called Charity who is great with students with disabilities, anxiety, etc.
I’d say the unit work in the H Block somewhat needs improving to what people in that block actually want to go on to do but don’t have the right qualifications so they decide to give us the most useless work.
Also when lessons end early, lecturers will say people can go home but don’t tend to think about people who live outside Weymouth & Portland and need to get to college via transport. Especially those who don’t have a choice but to share transport in which being stuck waiting around for the other person to finish.
Overall, it has some great courses and activities to take part in.
