My two children have flourished here, both personally and academically. They are truly known as the individuals they are by all staff, both for their quirks that sometimes need to be given consideration just like any child, and their passions and interests so they have extra opportunities to pursue them.
The teachers are fantastic; inspiring and passionate which my children have thrived off, but I also love that getting out in the surrounding countryside and having opportunites with music are part of normal daily life at West Meon School.
The children feel safe and happy which allows them to put their efforts into being ambitious and having belief in themselves. The small nature of the school means that children are given lots of opportunities to take on extra responsibilities and be in the limelight, so they actually go onto large secondary schools with greater confidence.
I could go on and on, I love it!
This school was not on our doorstep but from the moment we viewed it felt like home. Very different to the others - my children have been at ease here from day one - being supported and nurtured amazingly. They have all flourished within the wonderfully nurturing environment at the school - each reaching their potential and supported to be the kind loving and aspirational children we hoped they would be. All children at this school are seen and supported as the individual they are, and special needs well catered for if needed.
A definite must visit for any parent looking at schools (I don't feel you can fully put down on paper just how special this school is)
West Meon Primary is a warm and supportive village gem that welcomed all three of our children. The small class sizes create a special environment where teachers genuinely care about each child's individual needs and I am convinced that this personalised attention has been instrumental in helping our children grow into confident, well-rounded, and happy individuals.
The school might be small, but it is mighty! It seamlessly integrates into the surrounding area utilising the local nature station at the end of the disused railway, recreational grounds, and even the village hall (complete with external PE specialists!). They bring in external music specialists and always have an array of school trips on the go for the children to benefit from.
If you are seeking a school that prioritises individual attention and fosters a genuine love of learning in a nurturing environment, then my advice would be to look no further than West Meon Primary.
Our experience of this school has been really special. You can talk to teachers one to one at the drop of a hat, they really go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable & you can have honest conversations about your child’s behaviour with them. Bullying was dealt with instantly & smoothly & my child has gone from zero to hero with its reading skills and maths understanding. They are nurtured, made to feel safe & get extra attention because the school has small amounts of children in each class. It’s very special. Sports & creativity are encouraged here & our children have come out confident, bright & ready for the next academic level. Very pleased!
West Meon Primary school is an amazing school at the heart of the community. The teachers are fantastic and go above and beyond. Pastoral care is better than you would get in a bigger school. Opportunities for the children are 2nd to none.
Head Teacher doesn't address bullying effectively and takes sides. So much bullying at the school that is not addressed appropriately, unprofessional, illnesses not taken seriously.
