Awful school with teachers and staff who do not know how to / unwilling to think outside the box. They seem to only know how to follow a script, and would even prioritise some silly rules over the safety of students.
No support to child from the school teachers. Teachers always bullying students and students bullying students. Worst and racist school in all England. Please think 100 times before sending you child to that school. All my children's are suffering from the mentally disorder because of them and teachers behavious to child. They don't feel safe in Westhatch School in Chigwell. I think teachers enjoying bullying other people children's.
I’m a former student at this school, all i can say is terrible and do not send your children here. I got bullied 3-4 years out of my experience. The teachers do absolutely nothing. They care more about uniform, makeup, eyelashes ect. Food is also terrible. Anyone who is different slightly will get bullied and the staff do nothing except slightly tell them off. Multiple times the staff hear the stuff going on and do nothing. Some decent teachers but overall 1/10.
my school is good with things like sa. but there was an assembly on “lgbtq” and the headmaster constantly called non binary people “she” and saying slurs. His excuse was that he’s not educated on it?! OKAY maybye put in effort and GET AN EDUCATED PERSON TO DO THE ASSEMBLY? If you even cared a little bit you could have done some research.
also there is a new rule for no “short hair” in the summer. i think this is a bad rule. most black boys have shorter hair and shorter haircuts. afro hair is hard to manage and some boys don’t want longer hair. Maybye the headmaster put that rule out for just white people. Could have said that in the email.
I feel the school is average. It's got some great staff, and students for that matter but most of the teachers are wack
For example, abliest math and science teachers who have made fun of autistic children multiple times, and a certain science teacher who was overly homophobic and racist, saying slurs to her y7 form.
I feel the special courses that I have taken were fun, due to my liking in them and the teachers who enjoy teaching their subject
I do find it odd that staff are allowed to say racist, transphobic, homophobic and abelist slurs though. As an autistic, trans and gay person, I have been called slurs and other distasteful names due to this, the teachers barely care and in statements will say the word aloud. We also once had an assembly where a head of the school said the f slur despite being straight, and made multiple transphobic and homophobic comments throughout. During the assembly all of the students sat there in shock due to the rubbish he was speaking.
I do not think the school is great, having a ban on dyes for hair, shorter hair for girls, pins on blazers/bags, coloured coats and makeup causing people to not want to express themselves freely.
Despite all of the arguments, don't bother coming to this horrific school :)
