There is one teacher who shouts aggressively at students. This teacher used shout at me and other students aggressively.
Apparently this teacher is responsible for helping new teachers. I guess this explain why the academy is going downhill. Without a doubt the most evil teacher at this school.
The school is racist and has a poor undertaking of workplace practices. Furthermore, there are teachers who spent most of their time shouting out students of the most pointless of things.
The senior leadership and safeguarding departments are corrupt. These departments have no consideration for the welfare of their students and employees.
Staff are also very two-faced and there is an element of bullying at this school, which gets overlooked at all levels.
i was in a situation where people in my class and in the corridors people were being racist and bullying me. like i did nothing but just walked past or do my work in class. It got that bad for me that i didn't attend school for a long time. The teachers did nothing about the problems that was happening at the time and since i've been back, the school has gotten WORSE.. the toilet arrangements, staff STILL do nothing. i mean i don't see how OFSTED don't see this. Of course when Ofsted are about and they inspect, the staff are different towards us kids. This school is HORRIBLE. I was due to move but reasons occurred during the process, which is why i am STILL in this school. I hate it. They do nothing to fix the situation that your in. idk how they even passed to be qualified as a teacher that must be a JOKE. But take the rest seriously. I wouldn't advise this school anyway. Its bad!
i go to this school and sometimes they care about you and your education but mostly they dont, you get put in isolation for silly things they scream at everyone 24/7
the school say they care about you but they seriously dont, they just think your not behaving and just give you consequences that are not needed for what youve done most the time. also got told by a TEACHER i was gonna live on benefits when i left school and nothings happened they stuck up for her and made it sound like she didnt mean to say it.
Absolutely disgusting
My daughter was bullied and they done nothing about it
They don’t care about any of the kids
My daughter hasn’t been to school for 6 months now
They have never phoned or come to see if she is ok or why she is not in school
This is called neglect
The school needs closing down
we were on a residential with Walsall Academy, and the kids would non-stop call racist, homophobic slurs as well as body shaming and generally making people feel bad about themselves. this was the only time we’ve ever seen this school, but i sure hope it’s the last. they were rude, disrespectful and i understand that it was not everyone but no one was stopping it either, including the teachers.
If I could rate this school a zero I would. My school went on a residential last week and the group of students from this school made a lot of rude, unnecessary, horrible, homophobic, racist comments. Along with that me and my friends were body shamed on more than one occasion. This school was using inappropriate slurs against the majority of us and the behaviour is absolutely unacceptable. I hope that whoever is in charge of this school takes great action upon these students behaviour and that they and the school realise that what the students did was completely unacceptable.
My school went on a residential with this school and we were called horrible things when we were just walking past and had done nothing wrong - slurs, body shaming, racist and homophobic things, etc. I know that only a few people were doing this but it was still horrible and still affected a lot of people’s mental health.
My school went on a residential and this school was also here. A few of the students called us horrible things for no reason - slurs, body shaming, racist and homophobic things, etc. We had done nothing wrong and although it was only a few students it had a massive effect on a lot of people’s mental health
I joined the school in Year 7, and I was constantly bullied throughout my experience there until Year 10. My experience is quite similar to others that I know. I consistently reported my experiences with bullying to the appropriate people, but there was never any appropriate action taken. It had got to a stage where I was being physically assaulted and the school wasn't doing anything about it. The school's handling of bullying is far below expected, especially when it came to the targeted bullying of specific groups of people (LGBTQ+ students, etc.).
Their handling of mental health issues is extremely poor. The amount of pressure that is placed on students, with the expectation that their mental health isn't going to suffer is horrendous. They offer a "Place2Be" counselling service, but a lot of what is said to them doesn't remain confidential, making the service essentially useless. There seems to still be a stigma against students with mental health issues, with them not being helped, and their issues not being dealt with in any appropriate way. There is a major lack of support for students who are suffering with their mental health.
Members of staff continuously pick "favourite" students, and it's clear when this happens, because the other students of the class are treated with disrespect, and are essentially ignored. There are few teachers there who treat all students with the same level of decency and respect. A lot of the teachers are unable to control their classes, and there are certain teachers that are completely incompetent in their teaching, which is effecting the education of full classes.
When the country was sent into their first national lockdown due to the Coronavirus Pandemic, there was a lack of support from the school, especially when it came to online learning. There were few subjects that offered continuous online classes, as opposed to others which gave students PowerPoint presentations and expected them to teach themselves. This was especially detrimental to students who were either unable to access the internet, or the specific PowerPoints. This effected the education of many, especially when there was 5 months of missed learning time. Upon the return to school, there were certain members of staff that had to be reminded multiple times to wear a face covering when coming into close contact with student, and then showed a negative, quite sarcastic attitude in response to this.
The P.E. Department showed very little consideration towards students who weren't as confident, expecting them to perform the same as students who were more confident and enjoyed the lesson the most.
The school nurse regularly ignores the phone when called, I've seen her turn down the volume in order to ignore it. This shows a major disregard to the health & wellbeing of students. When she does answer the phone, she downplays any issues that a student has, and is often visibly annoyed when she has to deal with a safeguarding issue.
Overall, the school is quite good for academics, but they have no idea how to support students with mental health issues and students who are being victimised by bullying. The school seems to only care about the grades that a student gets, and the suffering that the constantly face seems to be viewed as collateral damage.
I honestly wouldn't recommend Walsall Academy, based on my own experience, and the experiences of current and past students that I know.
It's alright. Got to admit it is a lot better than other schools in the area and they do have top notch facilities. In terms of trips, education, grades and courses they have a lot to offer and some of the staff are great. Although quite a few 6th form courses have been cut this year, still have a wide variety though. Downside is, they're not great when it comes to mental health and bullying. Don't even bother with the school nurse, she's pretty much useless and never answers the phone when a students sick. They have a place2be for mental health but you can't tell them anything cause then it gets back to the nurse and your parents so it's pretty damn pointless when you just want to rant and be assured without getting your parents involved who can make you feel worse.
They need to get more in touch with the students because honestly? Half of us are depressed. I cant even count how many times I've heard someone in the corridors say they're losing the will to live because of all the stress. They need to up their game when it comes to mental health and try doing some own clothes days, had them when i was in year 7 and 8 but never had them since because of something a few people in a year group who dont even go to the school did.
I joined in year 7. Half way through that year, I got bullied and reported it loads of times but they never sorted it out! It carried on until year 9! A member of staff told me not to listen to my parents as “school knows better” but I’m with my family for life so they know better!! The staff pick favourites so if you’re not a favourite and you do one little thing wrong, they’ll shout at you for it. The teachers always shout (I’m scared of shouting so that made me a bag of nerves and they didn’t care). They don’t care when you cry, when you’ve lost a loved one and when you’re upset. I RAN HOME, SAT AND CRIED ALMOST EVERYDAY! I started to cry myself to sleep in year 8! I’ve been feeling depressed because of everyone there and they didn’t care! They wouldn’t care if I killed myself in the class room, they’d just carry on teaching! The kids made me hate myself, called my ugly and pushed me into the lockers. Students never followed the rules, I got marched out of class because I didn’t follow one rule? They don’t care about you! They just want your money!! They’re, sneaky, greedy, money seeking, it feels like we are being forced to be clones of eachother! They pretend that they don't know the pain that they’re are causing! They say “your actions is what hurt you”, but so do YOUR words!! Trust me, I've tried to make them listen but they won't! They keep shooting at the the kids who never cause trouble but then they’re claiming they’re the good guys!! All they want is your cash, our dreams doesn’t matter to them!!
This if for the staff... can’t you see that we're all hurtin'? If you're not teaching, we're not learnin' well how much are you earnin' from OUR pain?!?!?! You don’t even care about us!!
Decent school nice teachers just a load of snakes tbh gotta be careful who you trust and don't look weak else you'll get bullied overall loads of laughs met my best friend of 4 years there you can find some decent people its just hard and teachers dont really care much about what you do they just act like they do in front of parents
