My son started utc in 2021. We thought this would be good for our son. But soon found it was inadequate in every way. They were promised field trips to local business. This did not happen. He was told he would get help finding work experience. This did not happen. He had three different tutors for English. For which one used to be off most Fridays. When you tried to get hold of his tutor for progress reports or to voice concerns. She was either never available or wouldn’t reply to emails. The school canteen was more aimed towards vegans and ethnic menus. The monthly reports were hard to read and didn’t really tell you much. The only real helpful person was carol in reception. They barely used the workshops and was only really given a small glance of what it’s like to use the equipment, which concerns me for and engineering focused college. In hindsight I would not have sent my child here.
