My child has been at the school a couple weeks and he has told me there are fights everyday! And he told me his friend got attacked by a group of bully this is disgusting
I do not feel comfortable in the school environment
Very bad in my opinion I’m 13 going into year 9 . My teachers ignore my anxiety and needs to step out of the classroom and get help sometimes . Some of the teachers do not know what they are teaching or have taught us wrong . The only lesson I love is English because of my understanding teacher and how she teaches it draws me in . I have thought about moving to other schools as well because that school has made a massive decline on my mental health and the mental health team there either send me away or do not listen or tell me to come back later
I deeply regret sending my child here not only is the violence between pupils so awful, the bullying that happens within the lessons while teachers are present is beyond me.
If you complain they do anything to appease to you or simply ignore you. If children behave badly towards staff then its the parents at fault as they must be brought up badly or have issues at home it couldn't possibly be that some members of staff (not all ) behave inappropriately with the pupils also bully and harass them or make seriously inappropriate comments to them, either way nothing is done about it. There are simply to many children here for them to be properly supervised.
The school care more about statistics and attendance score than providing a safe learning environment for these children. They are expected to behave like robots with no care for their mental health and wellbeing. They are expected to attend school petrified from the gangs of children. The school just deny and deflect any issues raised. How can children be expected to learn anything at this school I've no idea. They do not care about pupils mental health but if you need a webinar to become a better at supporting your child needs as a parent there's one of those!
Pick another school for your child because I wish I did.
If I could score zero I would.. attendance teacher shouldn't be working in a school with her disgusting attitude no wonder kids don't want to go with teacher's like her working there.
The school is very bad at keeping students happy and safe, in the ofsted report you can tell all the teachers lied and said its a happy, welcoming school with no bullying whatsoever. Unfortunately for the school there has been so much bullying that that some students have tried to intentionally tried to ____ themselves because of how bad the school is at dealing with bullying. Within my first month of starting I knew 5 people who had moved because of bullying. I used to be a straight A student but now because of bullying im a C and D student all because I was bullied ever since I've started this school im now in y9. This is so disappointing I wouldn't be sad if the school had to shut down. Do better
teachers care more about the dress code than actual learning. fortunately for me one of my parents is a teacher there so i managed to get help when my mental health rapidly declined, but that’s just in my case. other students don’t get as much help as i did. teachers also pay more attention to the “naughty” kids and praise their minor achievements (e.g. actually listening and behaving) more than the “good” kids. there is constant bullying and teachers don’t do anything about it. heads of houses care more about if your hair colour/ nail or skirt length then they do about racism/ homophobia/ sexism etc. the school on a whole cares more about sports rather than academics.
however most of the teachers are relatively nice and good at their jobs.
I dropped out when I was 15 because of many issues that led to my mental health to rapidly decline (that staff also blatantly ignored). The SENCO department is an absolute pile of horse poo, though I know the absolute madlad that is Miss Tracey Gooch has left so I’m unsure whether it has improved since I left. Think the school should’ve just invested in something more useful than trying to introduce an overpriced “custom” blazer.
Its okay, quite a good school but there is a lot of students that disrupt lessons because of bad behaviour. Teachers just let kids kick tables over and leave lessons early. Head of houses care more about the dresscode than the students actual learning. I have made some good friends and some bad friends over the last few years however so its got good and bad sides really.
