Thurston Community College

this school is shocking my son goes to thurston community college the new rules such as no coats or jumpers even in the winter when it gets cold and not being able to go to the toilet when needed the school has turned upside down ever since thurston has had a new head teacher with all the rules she's putting in place and with after school detentions being the same day a student gets a after school they are being made to do it the same day even if the parent has not agreed for it to be done that night and they are being told if there parents haven't relied to the message for the after school then they will have to do the detention either way and being told "you will have to find your own way home if your parent hasent responded to us" there are lots of other rules for all students which i do not agree with girls not being aloud eyelashes or makeup many more rules for the students which should be looked at before being placed into a school as these rules are not right
if you are thinking of sending your child to thurston community college please do think again it is not a good school there is many many schools a lot better then thurston please do not send your child here

the worst school ever they have blocked everything on the computers like coolmathgames and the teachers are very bad and some of them are very dumb because they sometimes send me out for nothing even if u dont do it dont send your child here

absolutely a shit school, don’t send your child here, it’s awful, they kick people out for nothing, and then you have to fight to get back in as there’s no way of them trying to get you back into another school, they treat you like your a baby, my mate there, is struggling to even get back into the school, because there so unfair, they haven’t even given her a chance, they don’t handle mental health well, they don’t take behaviour issues well either, they have no sort of sense in anything, they need to get rid of the bad teachers like the head teacher, an sso, and more, there’s so many teachers there that don’t help at all, the school environment is just depressing it’s like you get up everyday to do nothing all day, it’s empty, the school was so much better before this new head teacher came along.

genuinely disgusting. full of racist, sexist & homophobic kids who get no punishment even when teachers hear. plenty of times i’ve heard a kid shout some offensive slur across the room and the teacher does nothing, even though they’re in blatant hearing of it. this school is genuinely awful if your child struggles with mental health, the school dosent help, support is minimal. they don’t understand at all!! i have diagnosed anxiety, and it took me a good 5-6 months to get my exit card because “i would miss out on learning time” and it “wouldn’t help” ( it helped massively, since getting it i’ve been able to go to school ) anyway. the school cares more about what you look like than your education!! literally any kid who goes here would agree with that . please dont send your kid here. please. awful school. i cannot wait to get out. the school environment is also just so depressing. it’s so dark and cold and horrible. i have 0 motivation to even try to go to school in the mornings because i’d rather die than go back there sometimes. the teachers are okay, some are awful, some are amazing. this school handles bullying awfully too lol. even though they say they care. they don’t.

Racist, sexist, degrading and demeaning teacher has not been punished has recently been exposed for black face and has not received any sanction for this blatant racism. The school is dangerous and full of safety hazards such as asbestos broken ceiling panels and glass. There is a predatory pe teacher who sexualises the female students at the school and has asked for the male students to undress in front of them
