I struggled massively with diagnosed mental health problems during my time here and they did nothing but make it worse. I once had a panic attack so bad I passed out from lack of oxygen.. and as soon as I came around I was told to go back to class because I was missing out on my education. That education was constantly being interrupted by the school itself as they took to excluding me for ‘protection’ instead of dealing with the homophobic bullies that physically assaulted me and faced no consequences.
the school is has come a very long way from where it was couple years ago but definitely needs another update. the interior and exterior is definitely a fresh and healthy environment for all students although some staff dont know how to handle children suffering with mental health issues who dont feel healthly in school environments. the staff are all amazing except from a handful but you get that at all schools. some dont help and it very much shows they dont care about your personal growth, especially when your in a middle set. the food served in the canteen is a little overpriced but is good quality and the menu goes down well including different snacks which are relevant. i think the school will improve once they find out behaviour is more important then school uniform. walking to school in the morning to be welcomed by three teachers staring at my skirt by the school gates made me really uncomfortable. also some students were forced to take there shoes or even socks of infront of the school, which i thought was unacceptable. i think teachers should accept how students are dressed unless its something not part of the uniform policy which is understandable.
This school is absolutely awful. I would be extremely surprised if it isn’t the worst in the area. It is not inclusive and does very little to help SEN students, it will do the minimum.
If you are a parent, do not send your child to this school.
Most of the teachers are stealing a wage. The one star is a compliment.
Experience definitely depends on the type of person you are as well as the people in your year group, every school has their fair share of mean children but that’s something the school has no control of per se HOWEVER they do have control over the teachers they hire. There are definitely some great teachers in this school that make the day better and are genuinely great people who are good at teaching however I along with others I know have experienced mistreatment from a few teachers. I’ve received first hand micro aggression from a teacher as a student of a minority group which was definitely unnecessary and at the time I didn’t even realise because I was so young. Overall it’s not terrible the environment is decent if you’re a regular student but teachers definitely show favouritism to the athletic and extroverted people.
This school needs mental health awareness days once a week the teachers should actually listen to the students if they say that child is bullying them they are just because you think they’re nice doesn’t mean they are overall this school needs work on it
Very good, great teaching staff, always feel safe. They include students in big decisions and always put their needs first. Only fault is some teachers are harder to deal with.
