Please do NOT send your kids here.

This school is borderline dangerous for children [especially if they are neurodiverse and/or trans]. This school has poor hygiene, poor behaviour from both students and teachers, little to NO support for learning disabilities, and is overall somewhere you should not want your child being at all.
Here are a few points to explain the awful and disturbing things this school has gotten away with, and has done nothing to stop:

1. There have been multiple teachers and support staff who have done completely inappropriate and [allegedly] possibly illegal things. A few examples of this-
-A support staff making sexual jokes towards an autistic child more than once, when reported nothing was done.
-A media teacher decided to, instead of teaching his lesson, rant about how 'global warming is not real' [this went for the whole lesson]. And another time was proudly telling students that if he quote 'hit a squirrel with my car, I would not care.' while explaining how he does not care for animals being hurt/k*lled in any way [this also had nothing to do with the lesson]. These two incidents were also reported to other staff and higher ups, and was also never acted on and nothing was done about it.
-A male teacher had been inviting only female students for a 'private lesson' [none of which was explained what they were learning etc.] that no other staff was told about, and there was it was apparently also a 'party'. Instead of being looked into and immediately shut down, once again, nothing was done about it.
-Other staff heard making sexual and inappropriate jokes [homophobic, etc.] with students and encouraging it, when reported told that 'teenagers make jokes like that it just happens'.
-A teacher was telling [I was told this was being shouted at the students] they should only speak English while they are in the school building [apparently they were not insulting anyone, just speaking another language]

2. This school is incredibly ableist with how little they will support some neurodivergent students. Multiple students received essentially 0 support, actually being shouted at and insulted [the words idiot, stupid, and lazy were used] by multiple teachers, who were fully aware of them having learning difficulties. I, myself, as well as being shouted at [etc.] for my disability, was also told I am 'just paranoid' and 'need to move on' by an official councillor/support staff at the time when I asked for support for diagnosed anxiety and other mental health issues. I was also refused a 'lift pass' because quote 'you can walk, just wait until there's less people on the stairs'. I have medical issues with my legs and very clear balance issues. I was also yelled at by different staff for not walking up said stairs 'fast enough'. PE teachers/staff standing in for those lessons have also shamed me and shouted at me [probably other students too] for quite literally not being able to do some physical activities/be fully active and standing for an entire 1-2 hours.

3. This school has barely any support for lgbtq+ students [especially for transgender students, which I saw and received no support at all for] in mine and other former/current students' experience [again it may have been better for some students, but this is in my and multiple other students' experience]. There has been multiple mild to borderline extreme harassment and bullying towards some students [many times with staff to witness it], and essentially nothing was ever done about it. Staff/teachers would not step in at all when I was repeatedly bullied, harassed, called slurs/things I do not want to put here. They did not even step in for many physical bullying and harassments that they could see happening in front of them. I did not feel safe in the slightest or protected by the adults in the school. After repeatedly asking [basically begging] for anything to be done about it, the school decided to send me to the same support staff who called me paranoid for having diagnosed disorders, and yet again I was told 'you are just paranoid' 'you are not actually being bullied'. Additionally, I went to another member of staff- who would've had more authority to step in and help- and was also called 'paranoid' for being scared of students who bullied/harassed me [physically and verbally] multiple times in front of staff and got away with it every time. I was terrified to even enter the building most mornings.

If you read all of that, thank you. It's heartbreaking to think that, if nothing changes, there will likely be more people like myself- and others- in similar situations to the ones I mentioned. These things [bullying, dangerous environments, etc.] can cause so much long term, sometimes life long damage and even trauma to children/teens.

Please be careful if you want your children to attend The Studio/Life Sciences school, though I would really not recommend it.
If you are a student still attending The Studio, I wish you the best. I'm sorry if you have dealt with any of the awful things mentioned in this post, it's not fair for anyone to go through, and it's not your fault.

Worst school I've been to.

Made my mental health worse and kicked me out for "lying to teachers" and lacking any motivation to do work because I was put in classes for subjects I really didn't give two shits about. I wasn't allowed to change them, even from the start. When I tried to talk about my issues with teachers they only made things worse, especially at home. I wouldn't recommend the school unless you're motivated enough and not struggling with mental health.
