The Manchester Grammar School is a wonderful place to study. Being an academic meritocracy, it prides itself for achieving top public exam grades with over 97% receiving A*-B grades at A level.
Offering places to students from year 3 to 13, the build up in academic pace is suited to allowing us to build the necessary skills along the way. With amazing teachers, we can ensure that we are taught to the best quality available.
Outside of academics, MGS has a lot to offer in terms of cocurriculur. Owning its own residential building called 'The Owls Nest', all MGS pupils will attend it in year 7 and 8. It is indefinitely the biggest memory of my time in the lower school. Also, MGS offers over 200 clubs so there is definitely something for everyone. At the end of the year, we have something called Activities Week which is a week off-timetable and we can do whatever activities we do so wish. Examples include one of the many camps on offer, or on-site activities such as Taskmasters or Debating or Play in a Week. Also, they offer activities such as 'Learn to ski in a week' or 'Cookery School', so again, there is something for everyone.
I wholeheartedly believe it is the best educational experience and brings together a the strong academics, the vast opportunities and the focus on wellbeing to provide a pleasant environment for all.
