Year 7

School of bullying and staff just covers there backs,

Worst high school in Hynburn, my son got bullied the very first week, punched in the face by a student in within the school and got told he’s burned, we made a complain and guess what??? The outcome could not be discussed but we need to take there words for it, in one occasion a teacher was present during an incident but again when I asked did you speak to the teacher ? You have another guess?? They can’t disclose the information about other students or teachers even when the issue concerns me!!!! I’m sure the school will see it , on top of everything I have everything reordered just incase they try and say that didn’t happen, word of advice , unless you want your kid to be bullied feel free to send them there, I will make sure that I will get request my sons data to check if you have recorded all my complains, you will hear from me very soon

Wouldn’t recommend, toxic environment.

I used to go to this school. I left a couple of months ago due to issues with the kids, teachers and overall life there. At first it was amazing the year 7 & 8 teachers are amazing but the year 9 teachers were horrible. Constant stressing about anything.

Eventually I started to get bullied for things and I went to teachers about it and they used the classic “we will see if it continues” weeks go by and I’m still being bullied but the teachers do nothing. My Head of Year wasn't that bad he tried his best but he never gave out any punishments and just said “it will never happen again” but the damage was already done I felt like shit every day and didn’t want to come to school so I stopped going for a week then they forced me to come back. My first day back was terrible, a kid did get excluded and the school gave me a week where I could leave class at any time to go speak to a woman at LSU. She was amazing and I loved speaking to her so much she helped me through it all but throughout the week I was still being bullied and no detentions were given. The only time anything ever happened was when someone shouted “oi gay boy” outside the headteachers office seconds after leaving a meeting with my head of year and parents. The only reason they did anything then is because my parents were still in the building.

It came to a point I couldn’t deal with the stress of school so I left and I’m now homeschooled.

On a different topic, the food is terrible. It’s so overpriced and the most you’ll get is a slice of pizza, pasta, or a sandwich. The times you got a burger or something good it was vegan. I once payed for what I was told was a “BBQ chicken burger” and on my first bite it was a vegetable burger. No one messes with my BBQ chicken.
I never went on one school trip in the whole of my time there, most of them were restricted to people who played on the sports teams or cost an absolute fortune. I couldn’t stay in the school long enough to see the good school trips which happened once every 3 years.

Overall the school is not a good environment for kids to go to, they need to work on their teaching standards and punishments because they knew I was getting bullied but didn’t want anything on the record about it. I even got pulled out of class with the people who were bullying me, taken to an empty office on the math block and a teacher said “It won’t happen again but there will not be any punishments” that’s when I lost it and left school. Wouldn’t advise sending your kid here.

Teaching + Mathematics homework

An overall adequate school, the way they teach maths is quite unpredictable and left my child feeling confused and lost. Especially the mathematics homework they give them. 'Sparks Maths' This website it a horrendous way to teach my child maths as they have gained nothing from completing it but stress, anxiety and overall negative feelings. It's not great as well that the teachers put unnecessary emphasis on the child to complete it. When they are struggling all they do is tell them to 'Go to it at lunch, break, afterschool.' What about their freetime? Their break from learning? They need that and cannot just sacrifice it for some idiotic website that does nothing but make my child cry and weep to me that he cannot do it. Absolutely unacceptable way of homework and you should change it instantly!

Terrible

Absolutely shite. Most teachers don't care about you, I'm constantly misgendered (I'm trans ftm) and there is way too much homework. Theres only a few teachers there I like.
