Teachers think that they’re above everyone, including the kids parents and they worry more about the children’s appearance than they do their education. Teachers are more focused on whether someone’s learning objective is underlined with red pen, than if they understand what is being taught to them. Sixth form dress code is so strict and girls are constantly body shamed and told certain things don’t suit their body types and that they are sexualising themselves. A few of the teachers such as Mr Sanger in Science, Mrs Solly in English, Mrs Howlett in English and Mrs Smith in Maths are wonderful at their job and always treat kids with respect. However others like Mr Flower in Science, Mr Mitchell in the 6th form block and Mrs Smith in English will never listen to the children and will automatically invalidate them and their opinions because they don’t agree. Please just don’t send your children here, it will impact their mental health significantly. Inside the school is okay, barring the peeling paint and leaking from the roofs. Pathways aren’t properly built and have tree roots bulging out of them which is a massive health and safety hazard. Stairs get so slippery during the winter, multiple children have fallen down and ambulances have been called on several occasions. As for safety it’s impeccable to be honest, but almost too safe. There are gates EVERYWHERE. And I mean that. It’s like a prison. The school are very bad at handling bullying especially when it comes from the teachers. A few have been known to pick on kids in pathetic ways like not giving a certain girl sweets, but giving it to the rest of the class. Food served in the canteen is below par. £2.40 for half a sausage roll, £1.10 for one cookie. £2 for a Capri sun... not worth it.
