I'd recommend never sending you're precious child here, as a previous student I put up with so much grief and bullying from a handful of classmates it was unbelievable, and nothing was ever done.
The majority of teachers are disrespectful with their foul choice of words towards students, damaging students mental health, calling one of my classmates "useless" and "never going to achieve anything in life," like the role of a teacher is to motivate their students, not to treat them like they're prisoners.
Holmesdale doesn't offer hardly any support to the students, so you can kiss goodbye to the sweet GCSE grades you need for college.
If your child was predicted to get a very low grade, I'm talking 1s and 2s, then the teacher would focus all their efforts on them, just for a "pay rise," which is outrageous while ignoring all the other students that needed their support.
The school is treated like a complete dumping ground as well, with litter everywhere, and they don't either offer toilet access to anyone in lessons unless you have a "toilet pass." Like, hello?!? Is it a prison or a school? It's a basic human right.... It's disgusting.
If you do anything wrong, you are screamed at and placed into a room called "isolation," where you're kept away from the classroom from the teacher that's supposed to support you, and you're made to just get on with it again.
The food and meals are ridiculously overpriced, with a £5-a-day restriction where a standard sandwich is £3.50, and if you bring your own food and are caught with sweet and fizzy drinks, they confiscate them. It's outrageous.
When osted came in, everyone was told to act all happy and hard-working, but when they left, the school became a complete mess.
School is made out to be the best years of your life, but if you choose Holmesdale for your child, you're looking at 5-7 years of hell depending on if you stay on for 6th form. The best thing i ever done was leave this place, I'd recommend choosing another school.
Not a good school the most of the teachers seem like they have no confidence and can’t do anything to stop kids in their class and it makes the school seem really weak
horrible teachers don’t care about you one single bit they couldn’t care less about how u feel in school some of them even treat u like u shouldn’t even bother anymore don’t go here this place also destroyed my mental health
Bad school. Teachers don’t care and treat students like they’re stupid. Nothing Is done about bullying or transphobia or homophobia specifically. The average grade was about a 5 for students that could of have reached much higher with the right support. Kids who constantly misbehave get more attention and support than kids who try hard but need support.
