Bullying

My daughter is currently attending was bullied in year they did nothing as a school apart from move my daughters tutor group.
The same girls are now being allowed to do it again , make threats to jump her after school make racist comments to my daughter the teachers said well there were no witnesses to that so basically calling my daughter a liar .
The head of year said to my daughter well what else do you actually want me to do here ?
They have let my daughter walk out of school twice without me being contacted which is a major safeguarding issue they know bullying goes on they choose to ignore it.
Teachers then gang up on my daughter asking her for what really happened as they have spoke to the girls and heard their story . So again my daughter is beloved or listened to at all .
The school is an utter joke care more about pupils socks or showering after PE than children’s mental health .
They force girls to line up after pe to be inspected to see if they’re wet enough after showering , children aren’t allowed to use the toilet . Not allowed to drink water freely during the day , not allowed to carry a coat or wear it inside the building so have to stand in the rain remove coat before entering the building .
Yet my daughter can put the coat in a carry bag and carry it that way.
Makes absolutely no sense schools aren’t ment to teach and be a safe space
I’d recommend you look elsewhere to put you children.
I’ve pulled my daughter out due to their lack of communication and punishment over bully’s .

Not a good school

This school is the worst I wish I could give it a 0 star the teachers are not that good and some of the teachers will give you detentions for no reason and once they don’t like you they keep on troubling you I was a student here and it was my worse experience ever I hope you won’t select this school as it is not the best decision.

Whatever you do DONT go to this school the teachers can’t teach you properly and they don’t do anything about bullying you have to ask to drink water and if you cough and the teacher tho k it’s interruptive they will give you detention this school just cares about it’s reputation instead of it’s student so if your reading this DONT come here

Don’t go to this school

This school dehumanises you. During a PE lesson I was really desperate for the toilet and I kept begging this PE teacher miss Whitaker to use the bathroom and she kept refusing to the point I was on the verge of pissing myself so I ran out the classroom to use the bathroom and I got punished for using the toilet. Another time I was left in a detention room by myself with about 9 different teachers gossiping about a member of staff. I’m not allowed to drink water in a science lab for some stupid reason but the teacher can obviously. I took the time out of my day to write this because I don’t want you to make the same mistakes as me by going here just because something looks good on the outside doesn’t mean it is on the inside

Year 7 to year 11

Not the best school

Honestly speaking went to this school years back .
The school doesn't take bully seriously until I got my mum to come into school and that was my last year in y11 .
Honestly speaking teachers would not do anything most off them beside head off year .
And few of my teachers .
In lower sets dont expect to pass teachers give you easy work

point of view of someone in the school

So, im currently in the school, the school are so transphobic and homophobic, they always put up posters saying “its okay to be gay” or “be yourself” but when you try to be yourself in this school it just gets you detentions and sometimes excluded, and the school councillors are so rubbish, one time i literally confessed to one of them that my mental health was crashing because of how the school system works and how they don't care about the students mental health and that the only thing they care about is getting you good grades and the counciller just said “oh well its school everyone does it”, which yes thats true everyone does have to do and go to school, but we shouldn't be forced to stick to a dress code that turns us all into conforming robots that don't think of anything other than work. The teachers don't care enough about people, the only reason why they're there is just for the money really. they want you to conform to what they think is normal, what they want, but not every job requires you to be fully suited up and not every job forces you to look the same.

A review that is a real as it gets

The school prioritises the grades of their students over everything else. As someone who went to this school for seven years, the school is very pedantic about its Code of Conduct and uniform and that the student morphs into robots that they mould into their definition of success (going into a STEM career). They say that their student's wellbeing is important but that has never happened in my entire time being in the school. The school likes focusing on those who are at the top and those who are at the bottom, though it is good that leaves for no support for those who are just doing 'ok'. It wasn't a problem for me during year 7-11 but now at the end of A-Levels, that has never been so prominent. The teachers do help you and can do give you the help you need but the problem is that the management does not try to show that they care for their students across all years, its clear that their reputation is above all.

Not all that it seems to be

Focuses too much on uniform rather than actual mental health of students and education. They dont care about bullying or our worsening mental health it's just about the grades. This school needs to really start caring more about students and not reputation. One good thing is that the teachers can be helpful and do push you to do well and there are lots of extra curricular clubs. But I'm in year 13 and not in my 7 years of being there have I seen evidence of care for mental health. Even the mentors are of no use.this school doesnt live up to their reputation. Also security is barely there. We have had someone not from the school come in with a knife and threaten students and teachers and another intruder that easily waltzed into the school and started demanding things from one student before taken out.
