great school overall

overall the school is great, there is a positive environment around the school and a vast majority of the staff are lovely and are the best in their fields. some rules, especially regarding uniform, are quite strict and are enforced very heavily by slt and the schools behaviour system is followed by the book by most staff but other than that the atmosphere is very chill. i didnt have school food but it didnt look great icl. the school is very clean and there are cleaners constantly around school, all of whom are lovely, as well as site staff and IT technicians, again all of whom are very nice and respond to issues quickly. the quality of education is great as many of the staff excel in their subject areas, particularly history, english and IT, and there is plenty of support especially during GCSE’s for students to use in order to do the best they can, such as after school revision sessions and online google classroom revision materials. the headteacher, mrs fox, isnt liked by many but every encounter i had with her was nothing but positive, you can tell she is doing what is right for the school, even if people disagree, and although some rules are questionable and can be seen as strict they are clearly working. the teachers are incredible, shoutout to mr parry and miss oldfield, and do their jobs perfectly. each lesson is set out in a way that is most beneficial to retaining information and students are tested periodically to test their knowledge. feedback from these tests are also very thorough in order to help students improve in specific areas. my only two downsides of the school is slt tend to reward those kids who behave badly if they dont for a day instead of those that behave well day in day out, almost pushing them to the side with little recognition for their hard work. my second downside is that target grades depend heavily on a students SATs scores rather than changing as they progress through the school, which does put pressure on them as in the eyes of the school they are performing below target, for example being made to go to a targeted parents evening in year 11 because they are below target (their targets are all 9s and they are getting 6s and 7s). however other than these two negatives the school as a whole is really good and i would recommend

they.are.pathetic.

the double standards were crazy. the staff would enforce so many pathetic and petty rules just to completely disregard them in regards to them self. staff would wine and get into hysterics if they could see the skin of your ankle, while most of the staff would wear trainer socks or no socks at all. god forbid you wear a little bit of makeup in the most insecure and vulnerable part of your life while you watch the teachers come into school everyday with thick, cakey makeup. god forbid you express yourself in the slightest or look even the smallest bit different to anyone else because the childish and emotionally immature staff would hunt you down and screech at you in front of the entirety of your peers. staff would actively avoid disciplining bad kids and would only ever reward them, while the kids that are always perfect and try their best would always get dragged through the mud unless they were loudest and most intelligent individual in the room. the staff in this school are weak and unfortunate, this school preaches that they only hire the best while there have been staff who have thrown chairs and books at these young kids. The hayfield school should be embarrassed of the way they conduct themselves. They.are.pathetic.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Avoid at all costs . Teachers are more concerned with proper dress code then education and the environment is depressing. I know people say they look back and enjoyed school but the thought of returning back through the gates of Hayfield makes me want to backflip off a building.

Racist pigs

A teacher valued at The Hayfield School “Hannah Rockcliffe” a vile human being. I am truly disgusted by their actions. They know what they have done to a student and it deserves to be noticed. They have hidden it until now but this is not acceptable, this school deserves better teachers all are racist especially the head teacher “Lisa Fox” and “Hannah Rockcliffe” tweedle dumb and tweedle dumber 😂😂let everyone know what your hiding

worst school

the WORST school I have ever been to the head teacher goes on about uniform and certain hair styles they give detentions if you have a small thing wrong but then say to be unique all though in assesmbly they say they want evryone to look the same.
do not care about the grades students get more bothered about how you look. they act like they care about mental health and it was obvious i was struggling and i reached out and they said its because ima teenager i had severe bullying and had food thrown at me but they said ignore it. do not send your kids here i dropped out this year it was that bad.

Not good for education

The headteacher bangs on about equality yet boys can't were girls uniform e.g.
You can't have below grade three even though they want us to be equal. Not educational at all I lurnt is how to tell a teacher if I'm getting bullied I say fuck that I'm gonna defend myself and fight back like what's gonna happen I get a detention or a strike. Ooooh soo scary.

Okay I guess

It’s okay they care a lot about uniform and not alot about learning and the sets are stupid I. Set 4 you learn nothing whereas in set 1 you learn everything and there are many teachers that are amazing and some that aren’t so great like one teacher abused the ability to send a student out to “hay zone” for 5 minutes. Every time they came back he was sent back there and he didn’t even do that bad. You make aloy of friends and I know the school can’t really help this but most of the students are ableist and the school having a place for all the people with disabilities to gather dosent really help

Year 10

Overwhelmingly mediocre

The head teacher has very abnormal priorities, valuing uniforms over quality of education. The education your child gets really depends on their sets. Set 1 classes tend to have good, hard working students and a productive classroom environment. However, the high grade students aren't rewarded even nearly enough for their efforts as rewards are focused on the less productive students barely passing. On the other hand, set 4 classes are a disruptive environment where students who want to improve can't as they are limited by their misbehaving peers. Additionally, the new mixed ability english classes don't allow a work environment where students can thrive. The lessons go too slow for high grade students and are too complicated for low grade students. Overall, very average. Not to mention the dreaded FOX NEWS. Mrs fox is so self absorbed she needs her own news channel to complain to students about every minor detail of uniforms and hairstyles. It's 20 minutes of my Monday morning wasted.

Overwhelmingly average

The school's quality honestly depends on what sets you are in. Set 1 classes have good teachers and interesting lessons. Students behave and perform well but higher grade students lack rewards as its focused on those barely passing. Set 4 classes are full of disruption, with students who don't care. Students in those classes that want to improve are limited by the behaviour of their peers. Additionally the new mixed ability english classes limit the progress of higher grade students due to a less productive environment. Overall a very mediocre school

Hayfield isn’t as good as you think

I go to this school and haven’t been there long. I absolutely hate it, all the teachers are hypocrites as they say you can’t wear jewellery but they do, only aloud water as they drink fizzy pop. There have been people who want to protest because of the school as they sexualize women as they can’t have any shorter skirts than below knee length as it’s apparently “to revealing”and boys aren’t aloud a hair grade below a 3 because it’s seen as “unprofessional” and we are only kids and don’t need to be professional. It is racist, homophobic, transphobic and people bully at this school to be popular. All the head teacher mrs fox wants is good dreaded and doesn’t really care about our mental health she cares more about decoration in the school more than our mental health so I please beg you to not send your child here.

Hayfield isn’t as good as you think

I go to this school and only started this year, I absolutely hate it, all the teachers are hypocrites as they say kids shouldn’t do things as they do it and think it’s ok such as saying we’re aloud only water and they have fizzy pop. There have been people who want to protest but are scared they will get expelled which I can understand, the protest was about skirt length as they sexualize women because apparently it is “to revealing” to have a skirt above the knees. I recommend you don’t send your kids here as it is awful.

Avoid

If you value your child’s and your own mental health do not pick this school. If you have a perfect child A* with no views or any disabilities or Needing support to apply their learning please just stay away. This school has broken my child and our family with no regard when you try to speak with them they ignore you, complete disregard for having healthy parent teacher communication and support so your child can achieve potential. I have never experienced such a regime don’t work with decent professional parents so god help parents who have no understanding or correct procedures. If you ask for answers to any worries your child will suffer, it’s like a concentration camp. Ridiculous consistent punishment for minor things, children placed in isolation for hair not being cut to a certain specification, god help you if they loose or damage school uniform and you cannot replace immediately they are again either placed in isolation or suspended totally ridiculous policies. Not culturally aware, not disability supportive it is about time ofsted got into the school speak with children and parents and sorted this school out I’m sure from reading reviews children have already suffered mental health issues and not achieved their potential as there is little nurturing students to feel safe and supported.

Do not send your kids here

Evil teachers and bullshit rules. This school made me want to kill myself every day. DO NOT send your children here. Please. Years later I’m still suffering the consequences of attending this school and the same problems still exist at the school, in fact it’s gotten worse.
They care more about the length of a girls skirt or a boys hair than the actual work. Disgraceful. Pervy too.
Sending kids home for the slightest uniform mistake, parents are sending kids to school to learn, not waste valuable time because of clothes. GET YOUR PRIORITIES STRAIGHT.
I don’t know one person who genuinely enjoyed going to hayfield, it’s a shithole. Do not send your child here.

Avoid Hayfield School- Mrs Fox V Poor

Rules are excessive and petty and the school has forgotten these are children that need to be encouraged to learn and not dictated too with strikes, staff call-outs, reengage etc. they need to worry about bullying and physical violence over skirt length to the knee for god sake. It starts with the headteacher Mrs Fox who is out of her depth and maniacal in response t9 her own ineptitude

If you want to go to This school reconsider

Kinda a meh
Ever since I went to this school it has gotten more strict with it’s rules these rules have often affected students mental health in bad ways causing students to be unmotivated which affects their end of yr 11 grades but still it has somewhat good education though it’s hard to remember anything, it’s rival hallcross seems way better than it too especially right now with our head mistress who cares more about decorations rather than students mental health

Terrible Secondary School

I went here for a short while and I left here in 2013 halfway through Year 7. Most of the teachers I had there in Year 7 were terrible, not very nice, very problematic and didn't teach you anything. Their dinner tickets were a ripoff and not worth the money. I hated my Year 7 tutor group they so cringe and problematic. I got into a fight here with a fatass from bottom set in Year 7 which I won during lunch queue during lunch break. Their secondary school PE kits were such a ripoff and they make you buy them for PE uniform. All these randoms chavs from Finningley and other areas in Doncaster though they could fight me when they couldn't they would off got slapped by me in fight. It was a terrible school and I had depression at the time when I went to the school. Stay away from this secondary school.

A tip

From what I can tell this school used to be good but it has devolved ever since a new headmistress had been appointed from what I could gather I have seen year 7s vape along with the majority of the students being vile the rules are way too strict you can’t use our phones at break for stupid reasons and we can’t bring curtain products in. I’m soo glad I’m going to leave this school

Basiclly hell on wheels

Just simply don't go to this school , its racist , homophobic , transphobic and all it cares about is its own reputation.

The main priority for them is school uniform and if your going to get a 9 , I can say for most of the people I know whom attend this shit show ,that our mentally health and well-being is negatively influenced . Not to mention that most of the teachers seem unqualified , or are unfair on students . In my 5 years of going to this school I truly feel I have been bullied by multiple teachers and lots of students .

Just simply don't bother with this school, it's hell

don’t go please

if ur considering going don’t they’re racist and they don’t teach about racism properly at all and even the teachers are racist and they’re strict about dumb things like phones at break when phones literally make us happy... there’s no harm in us using them??? people use them in lessons instead. also we should be using phones and technology more in class for education because we get more information out of them and technology is whats out there in the real world. they superficially teach about racism they only want to look good so they get good ratings they don’t actually care about the students don’t send ur kids there please. and they care about uniform more than our actual grades like we should be able to have our skirts the length we want without getting isolation. it’s sexualising kids how do they not realise that and if u say we have to have them long to look smart then ur saying girls have to cover themselves up to look smart they are horrible don’t go

TERRIBLE.

ok where do i start. this school is terrible. actually, i know for a fact before ms fox became the headteacher, this school was 1000x better than what it is now. the high academic results you see from this school are not because of good teachers or good support from the school, it is from the individual students’ own intelligence and will to do well DESPITE this horrible school. due to ms fox, who cares 1000000x more about minor details or the uniform(especially girls!! she pulled out every single girl, no boys, out for an assembly that took one hour of every girl’s important lesson time, even year 11s, to lecture us about all the uniform rules, trust me this wasn’t warranted by anything you would think, huge majority of girls had always been wearing smart uniform) rather than any of the huge racism and bullying in the school, she cares more about spending money on flags, house decorations, changing the school colour, the school uniform, spending huge amounts of time policing poor girls about their SOCKS. and SHOES. as in, she banned girls wearing socks that were below their ankles and even black shoes made of a slightly softer material. it’s atrocious. the english department is terrible btw. not all the teachers fault but there are only a couple of good english and language teachers. the maths department was very good at teaching but i have heard many of the good maths teachers have left for mysterious reasons. if you value your child don’t send them here. oh yeah i don’t want to forget how in year 7 i had a PE teacher completely target me when i had done nothing wrong whatsoever. she would give me countless detentions for any small things she could find, i guess it’s a mix of a terrible personality and perhaps racism targeted towards me. this school is ridden with racism. students who said the nword were ignored and teachers stay complacent. not to mention the white teachers who say the nword in their english class with pride, it’s disgusting.

A dreadful school.

It was a very happy day when lockdown came and my daughter was able to leave this school 3 months earlier than expected. Having to attend damaged her Mental Health and having to try and make her go was very damaging to mine. I would home school rather than contemplate sending another child here. The rules are so strict on uniform but bullying goes unpunished. Teachers actually asking to see what socks girls are wearing under their trousers?!
It used to be a good school until the new headmistress came then it went downhill very fast. It ruined my son’s life and blighted my daughter’s. She is only now starting to recover from the damage they did.

No just No.

People from this school are vile and represent the staff there impeccably. Never met anyone who enjoyed their time at the school and turned out mentally stable. DON NOT. I REPEAT DO NOT. Send your children there if you actually love them. They're all horrible people.

Wouldn’t send my kids there

Going to this school gave me depression. Some of the teachers are lovely however the majority are rude and unreasonable. The rules they have in place are too firm it’s suffocating. Sending people home for wearing the wrong socks? Really.
The school used to be great and don’t get me wrong I don’t regret going there however it’s definitely gone downhill. No support and I just felt unsafe and uncomfortable.
