Complaint about the grange school from an former student
I am an former student of the grange school.
I have had numerous problems with food and curtain memebers of the staff that work at the grange school, earlier this year i found out that i have several sevear anaphylaxis allergies, the school knows about this as well as all of the teacher that taught me. I had made sure that i mentioned to all of my teachers that i was put into hospital because of havong an anaphylaxis reaction, so that all my teachers were awear, it was also on the school's system that i was allergic to egg and sesame and lactose intolerant. I had asked the canteen staff what i could have that was vegan or had nothing that i would react to. When they reaponded all they could offer me was a fruit pot. I know that i am was not the only student that had allergies that they were awear of, but the canteen had very limited options to things that would not make me go into anaphylaxis or make me sick if i ate them.
I had brought this up with several members of staff, but nothing was done about it, so i had to eat things that made me sick, and there was no other option because i didn't want to go into anaphylaxis. There has been multipul times during my last school year that i kept on having alergic reactions, these reactions i could not control, they could happen at anytime or any place.
I had to have ambulances called out several times, and i had to get rushed into hospital because i was having another allergic reaction.
Most the teachers would be supportive of what the allergic reactions could do, but some would refuse to let me go when i needed to meaning that my reaction could not be treated right away and preventing it fro getting any worse.
Also my sister is a student at the grange schoola and has learning difficulties, she gets minimal support during lessons, meaning that she cannot work to the best of her ability.
Also during exams she is supposed to get extra support, but she is lucky if she gets little support, if any at all.
Over my 5 years here, this school went from decent to inadequate
I never thought I'd have a bad word to say about this school. However, after many incidents with a certain few teachers and considering exams are over, I think everyone should have the right to know exactly what happens inside this disgusting school.
Firstly, the quality of learning (Minus languages and combined science) DOES NOT prepare students for upcoming exams. I can write this as when I opened up the 2023 GCSE exams, I can assure you nothing the students saw was taught. For a single good quality teacher, there are 4 more teachers who shouldn't be in this line of work.
The staff and teachers don't understand the importance of a student/teacher relationship and keep having their private lives involved. Unfortunately, I cannot name-drop, but there have been tweets sharing political views spread around the school which is the furthest thing from professionalism, especially in a workplace with impressionable children.
The safeguarding and pastoral team are HORRENDOUS, there have been Class-A drugs on the premises but when reported, no action is taken yet the person doing the right thing is at risk of being punished themselves. I ask you, is that fair? This then affects the school in a different light, one in which the environment is no safer than that of a crackhouse.
Extracurricular activities are non-existent unless you're good at football or can dance, something most academic-minded students are not.
OFSTED has rated this school as "Requires Improvement" - This shocks me because if they saw what exactly happened inside the building, they would shut this place down INSTANTLY.
However, credit where it is due and this is the only good point that comes to mind when I think of this school:
The languages block is extremely well developed, with brilliant staff to help with any issue with the subject (Whether it be French or Spanish), and a great environment to learn in. The faculty need to take what they have there and make it for the entire school otherwise I cannot see this educator lasting past 2025.
DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE unless you're looking for your child to have altered views on what's right and wrong, what they can and can't get away with, and how to manipulate any situation to suit themselves.
It’s horrible here. The teachers do nothing about the bullying here and they just brush it off. They don’t care about us and would rather let us be bullied to the point where (some people I know have said this to me) they feel unsafe at school and would rather be dead then go here. I have been bullied most of my life and they treated it so much better at primary. The teachers here couldn’t care what your feeling they just want the money. The school building is fine it’s just the people inside it that makes it worse. The food here is terrible, they had to shut the canteen due to pests or something infestation. All of this and more.
the maths teacher is a very smelly man and he always lifts up his arm and shows his sweaty armpit. the toilets are very clean due to all the tears shed onto the floor because of the mean boy lincoln, he is very big and scary and has a 10 pack who beats me up everyday. the art teacher bit me and then proceeded to bark at me until i ran away. when i told another member of staff about this the did the same thing. i am convinced that they are all werewolf's. i have left the school and been diagnosed with ptsd and autism
Sent my daughter here after she missed out on getting into the High School by a few marks on her STT.
Within a few weeks she was coming home in tears having been teased continually in earshot of teachers who did nothing to intervene. This carried on for many months despite numerous phonecalls and meetings with the school and assurances that the bully's would be dealt with. Alongside this lessons were disrupted by out of control students who teachers were scared to confront. Ecigs, drinking and drugs are common place and other parents have complained of seeing pupils openly carrying knives. The final straw came when she was hit on the back by a full metal water bottle thrown by a year 10 pupil from a second floor window had it been her head she would have been seriously injured if not worse. I was told the pupil had been dealt with but he was just given a week in isolation.
We have had to move out of the area to High Wycombe as all local schools were full she has settled in her new school and is now so much happier.

Had to take my daughter out at the end of year 7 due to the bullying she experienced at this school which was never dealt with. She was due to go to Aylesbury high school but didn't score high enough on her transfer test so sent her to the grange as it was close to where we live. In the first few weeks she came home in tears having been teased continually throughout the day in earshot of teachers who did nothing to stop the bullying this got worse throughout the year.
Some teachers did try to help the situation but the bullies were given nothing more than a slap on the wrist and in one meeting I was told " we cant suspend all 20 pupils"
Lessons where regularly disrupted by out of control students who teachers seemed scared to confront the final straw was when she had a full water bottle thrown at her head from a second floor window everytime. We have had to move to Stantonbury as all other local schools are full she is now so much happier and is doing well with her studies.
i got non stopped being bullied at this shambolic school. the teachers do nothing apart from the art teacher, but i was picked on in front of and even mocked by teachers on a daily basis. this school should be no longer.
the school is very bad a mean boy pulled my tie and the teachers did nothing about it another mean boy stole my phone and the teacher said i dont care its your phone not mine so i cried in the toilets for the rest of the day this was in first period. i am now diognosed with depression.
Only 1 of the 6 classes each day would have our actual teacher the rest was all covers that changed every time and would have no idea what we need to learn. Ended up moving to the ava. Shoutout to miss friend the art teacher, she was cool and helpful. One of like 4 of the cool teachers.
Students manage to sneak alcohol onto the grounds and get drunk to the point their stomach has to be pumped. Racism is ignored. Homophobia is ignored. Sexism is ignored. Bullying is ignored. God forbid if you chew gum though. Behaviour points and the teacher has a hissy fit. You get -4 behaviour points if you mention the word ‘Shed’ near a certain teacher who posted a very weird Twitter comment online. Teaching has gone down the drain. One of the worst schools in bucks. Gum absolutely everywhere. Teachers are biased and irritating. A million and one assembly’s about anti bullying and anti-whatnot but should bullying happen teachers do nothing. Most of the teachers there have problems and take it out on students because they live sad little lives.
Schools filled with wannabe roadmen kids who think they are tough. Really gobby kids but expected from Teenagers. Teachers are stupid. They need educating on online safety as they post inappropriate tweets on Twitter. They then get mad when students bring it up around them. Maybe they shouldn’t of been silly enough to have had a public account in the first place. Idiots.
Most of the teachers are incredibly stupid. Don’t know how to control a class nor how to teach teenagers. You get a couple teachers there who are very bright and good teachers so I question why they work in that school. Thank god they do otherwise the school would go even further down the drain. Schools filled with wannabe Roadmen who think they are tough. Get quite a lot of bright kids, however, the average are rough. Canteen is so overpriced and they must earn a bomb but always complain how they have no money and can’t repair anything. Toilets are grimy but understandable as students ruin them. Gum absolutely everywhere, but again, students at fault. Some teachers are not very educated on online safety as they post weird and odd tweets on Twitter. They then complain when students bring it up. Maybe staff should be educated on why they shouldn’t post inappropriate comments on a public account.
This school is certainly one of THE WORST in Aylesbury.
Firstly, racism and homophobia is LAUGHED at within the school. Nothing is sorted about the discrimination to other students. For the few that do go to the teachers to report the discrimination, it is “Put forward” and then you’ll be given a 15 year old statement sheet to fill in. About 1/100 of those sheets get sorted appropriately depending on the issue.
Secondly, if there is bullying going on to you or your child, you have a higher chance of the police giving them a detention than the school. This school is not reliable when dishing out punishments to the students who are in the wrong.
Lastly, the quality of teaching is terrible. Like, seriously, the school is unable to educate students effectively and then shout at you if you haven’t gotten it first time.
It’s absolutely pathetic how this school isn’t being seen as one of the worst anymore. Nothing has changed over the years that I’ve been here and if there are any, then they have seriously made the school worse rather than better.
There is gum everywhere(carpets, walls, tables, and floors).
The school isnt good at finding bullying but when you report it, they crack down on it immediately.
