garibaldi school

awful, i was badly bullied all throughout my time there, i was jumped in the toilets, had people cutting my hair in lessons and it got so bad to the point i was terrified to leave my house for 3 years yet the school did nothing about it or they would put me in isolation for weeks on end to keep me “safe” when they just made me so much more anxious than i already was.
i eventually went back in year11 and it just went downhill, i was always trying to end my life whilst on the property, some teachers did help but others just made me feel so much worse. they eventually ended up calling the police on me and then told me i’m not allowed in school anymore even though they knew i had a bad home life

The garibaldi school

My experience with the school has been shocking to be honest. I have struggled with my mental health in the past few years and the staff at that school haven't done ANYTHING to help they say they offer help but all they offer is links to online websites. They also pit a ridiculous amount of pressure on students to achieve their best while offering no support to help them get there they only tell you that's where you should be. At the garibaldi school punishment is issued at any opportunity whereas rewards are only given to those who usually misbehave and do the bare minimum while those who work hard consistently are left feeling undervalued and discarded.

My personal experience.

I started the school in 2014 and the first year was brilliant because I was based in ONE department (Student support) and I was encouraged too learn, the teachers made the lessons fun for me, they were patient with me.. However, when my teacher retired in 2015, I got sent down too the main part of the school and from then on, I would get picked on by my peers, yelled at for not wanting too go too lessons because of said peers, I was constantly being accused of misbehaving when I wasn't.. it got too year 11 and the exams, the amount of stress I was put under because I was "Behind everyone else in my grades" I felt like the teachers didn't acknowledge that I was struggling and that I have dyslexia.. I would go on but the review would be too long. I finished school in 2019 and most of the teachers I had have left.
