We have had an absolutely horrific time at this school. Child started 2019. I made the class teacher aware of the difficulties my child has. This fell on deaf ears! Fast forward 3 months, my child became a different person. Withdrawn, depressed, wouldn't eat or drink. I rang the school to speak with the head, but only managed to speak with the head of year 7. I asked about bullies, but the exact words I was told, were 'Your son doesn't bother with anyone, so that's why no one bothers with them' Isn't this bullying in itself? They acknowledged my child was incredibly isolated but failed to do anything about it. Disgusting. The school is run like a business. From our experience, they only care about how well the child does academically. They didn't care about the well-being of my child at all in the beginning until I demanded he went to their Pupil impact centre within the school. The staff in there were great. Thank God my child is now out of there!
The school almost turn a blind eye to bullying and encourage students who are falling behind in post-16 subjects to just leave. Excellent grades are what they want, not safe and happy students. The teachers not involved in the post-16 students are superb, however, and do seem to care about the students and making them enjoy their educational experience.
The school has dealed with this pandemic very well, even though their are some parents that will have their meaning fits and say how bad they are doing and how it's bad how their not letting the children outs side and that they are stuck inside a classroom for the whole day but if your think they are keeping the much more safe than doing their own way . So overall I think that the school are doing very well x
