I finally got my child out after 2 horrendous years.
I had to pay a 25 pound doctors note to prove my daughters illness
Which did not satisfy the attendance officer they care about the attendance of pupils not health. they still msg email and call me every day despite me providing evidence and calling to complain its the same automated message they know the reason the doctors are in agreement with me
parents you know its hard raising poorly children at it is so just imagine that everyday
Theres a serious problem with bullying and racism not handled properly by the school. Im happy too say i got her out that hell hole and into a better school starting September
But the school is still making things difficult until she starts the new school dorcan academy will keep contacting me knowing she wont be there come September
Its laughable I SUGGEST YOU
Look into the ofsted records properly they have only just reached adequate THIS YEAR after failing countless times
The headteacher is good at making you believe she's running a tight ship dont be fooled.
absolutely amazing this school is. 100% would recommend. teachers are absolutely lovely. all the teachers work incredibly hard and put up with a lot but still come to school smiling each day and doing their absolute best. their pastoral/ BIT team work incredibly hard and help with the behavioural and some wellbeing issues. each teacher works incredibly hard in their role and the teaching is outstanding.
really it's just up to the students for how they respond in the school environment but otherwise the staff members work incredibly hard!
i’m a student here and it’s not very good. every teacher has favourites that they let get away with things and then other teachers punish too harshly. the teaching’s alright but nothing exceptional. the headteacher doesn’t really care about us students she just wants to look on ofsted. there’s little care for the mental well-being of students and the fact that we are rarely allowed to use the toilet at break? nah it don’t sit right w me.
Fights all the time. went into an assembly not long ago and blamed it all on the parents saying its not her fault why the students act the way they do. The teaching itself is good but there is a lot of people who dont get warnings ext because they are close to the teachers. Also people smoke outside of the school grounds after school constantly.
Not a good school. 100% wouldn’t recommend. Not good with people who have learning difficulties and they took two years to diagnose me with it. Would never ever send a child their
Have 2 children at this school and they are doing really well. What really stands out to me is the passion of the teachers - they so want all their pupils to do well in their subjects. They work really hard at forming good relationships with the children and this in turn makes the children want to do well. There is a small cohort of children from backgrounds that aren’t the best, who do let the school down occasionally, but you get this in every school - and hope that they will be inspired to better their behaviour.
Unfortunately the grounds are not in the best condition- this is clearly not a result of teaching but of politics. But as I say the teachers are outstanding and I just hope they realise how good they are and do not decide to leave the profession as teachers are dropping like flies now and
Our children need them. It’s very easy for parents to put blame on teachers but they need our support - teaching doesn’t just happen between the hours of 9 and 3 !!
