Hated my 5 years here

Discriminatory bullying happens and it’s as if nothing or little is done about it and I agree with the other reviews that the behaviour officers encourage the bullying. Like they would shout at and be mean to all the good students to give them some sort of weird ego but when it is the actual trouble makers they friended them or they would say don’t do that. When I was there sometimes a whole group of students would run after a student they had a problem with to kick them and beat them up and the group that did it were never in trouble!!! They had to lock the toilets as this group would always vandalise and damage them or use it as a smoking and vape club. Last year some students kept pressing the fire alarm. Then they made everyone line up before going into the building because the horrible students would push and kick people over when walking.

I wasn’t in the smart classes so my lessons would always be disrupted by bad actions of the students. And for some reason if your anti-drugs your labelled as sad as most of the students do drugs all the time. The only good thing they have done was get a woman safeguarding lead as the previous ones were useless about SA

Waste of money…

The School sells drugs and has corrupted students. As a former friend of the students, you can’t even say thank you. They have Chav slangs like ‘oi mate or ‘Ching Chang Chong ‘ or ‘bruv’ or fam.
I remember once being bullied into dancing while their stun eyes in yr ten offered me drugs, as I said before. The staff is a pain in the arse and a abs, lute flop

Bad school.

I have had multiple panic attacks at school and about school there, a teacher told me I was just exited. They enable bullying, homophobia, transphobia, racism and abelisim while claiming to be against all of these. several teachers are litterally nonces and the school does not care. They claim to be ‘anti racist’ and let white people say the n word among other racial slurs. They have not done one thing about homophobia- a big issue in the school- yet claim to be against it. The most they do is put ‘people are gay, get over it’ posters up around the school. They let people bully other people and genrally do not care. They claim to care about students mental health then go ahead to shout at them for not doing the home work ‘to an good standard’ even when some people litterally can’t. They do not give a shit about anyone who goes to the school. They say to get sleep then don’t give us the chance. They say we need at least 8 hours of sleep, 1.5 hours to eat and some time to socialise, they are the reason we do not have that time.

There are multiple teachers who make p3dophilic jokes among other really creepy things. I have even heard a teacher call a student ‘hot’ and ‘cute’.

They lock most of the bathrooms at most times, then blame you for not going when you could have. There are multiple racist, homophobic and transphobic teachers in the school.

Charter

I am an ex Charter student and I would never send my future children there. Terrible atmosphere. Mental health issues and self harm are rife amongst students and nothing is done about it. Teachers are for the most part petty and arrogant (although to be fair there were a few good ones). Bullying is not taken seriously. In fact, the bullies were usually well liked by teachers and behaviour officers, who therefore let them get away with anything. Disproportionate punishments for very minor misdemeanour (forgetting a planner, wearing a tiny amount of make up etc). The teaching is alright but the targets are often ridiculously high and don’t have any basis in reality. There is too much focus on maintaining it’s so-called good image by forcing pupils to apply to Oxbridge. I experienced countless instances of sexism whilst at Charter and I was bullied during year 7-9. I feel angry about being let down so badly for so many years. I should’ve left before sixth form, I don’t know why I didn’t. In conclusion, if your children aren’t white, male, neurotypical and mentally and physically healthy, then this school is not for them. Find a better school.

Awful

this awfu school is 'outstanding' but the behaviour in this school is shocking with students shouting/swearing at staff and others, teachers crying infront of classes, pens being thrown at teachers and students and more. many teachers do not motivate and get their powerpoints from free websites, TES.COM and DrFrostMaths, nothing spectacular to be honest. a lot of colourist black male students and a lot of underlying/subtle racism within students from dulwich villidge.

Bully enabling school

Bullying not addressed by staff no sometimes instigated by behaviour officers who don’t know the meaning of confidentiality whilst they try to befriend trouble makers. Your child will get educated but possibly emotionally and mentally damaged Avoid

** ******** IS A NONCE

The teachers and staff at the school tell us constantly that they are “not just a not racist school they are an anti-racist school” which is such a fat lie. They pick and choose where they think racism homophobia transphobia ableism sexism etc should be punished when it should always be punished. As an one of few Asian students I’ve noticed how little the teachers care about Asian racism as me and my other friends face it frequently with staff present and nothing is done. Phrases such as “ling ling” “Y/N eats dogs” “ching chong China man” are constantly used and if you confront them it’s just a “joke.” And during the pandemic many students think it’s okay to come up to you start to cough and pretend to die because you “gave them the China virus” and the school doesn’t do ANYTHING. Even if you report it to the behaviour team they do nothing. However if you report racism especially black racism they hand out suspensions and detentions immediately. Overall you will get a decent education from unpassionate teachers but things like bullying racism sexual assault and sexism will be constant (there are also several nonce teachers who comment on the length of girls skirts and how much leg they are showing and touch you inappropriately) :)))

Face issues rather than turning the other way

School is okay in some aspects such as in certain academics, but although it has assemblies about stuff like equal rights it does nothing to combat bullying, homophobia, ableism, sexism, racism and especially not transphobia at the school. A male at the school sent a picture of his private parts to a girl and harassed girls often, and yet although the school extremely recently had an assembly on this kind of behaviour, let him off on a single day in the ACE room. Issues need to be addressed more head-on by the teachers and I even have one teacher who appears to be transphobic. Discriminatory bullying happens and nothing is done. Other than that the teaching is okay, although I don’t feel interested enough in the way they teach subjects

mhm yeah

doesnt handle bullying well, almost encourages ableism and doesn’t stop homophobia or transphobia or racism.
