I used to be proud saying my children attend ARPS but now I’m ashamed. So many students have left and reception intake is low they are having to take a lot of things away like the sports opportunities which is what the school is known for.
If your child has any learning difficulties or special needs the school is awful.
They have a problem with physical behaviour, staff do not deal with this and my children are hurt on a weekly basis. Since the new head teacher started the school is becoming one to avoid which is a shame.
Teachers don’t follow safety procedures and parents evening is a waste of time, you get no feedback. One positive is the teaching assistants, they have been great supporting my children.
Do not do not do not do not send your child to this disgusting school
Do not send your children here . I have just had to remove my two children , the headteacher is beyond useless he doesn’t reply or sort any issue out you may have . It’s his way or the high way. There are a few horrific teachers in the school that bullied and humiliated my year 5 child . Again the head and deputy are just as bad as one another non existent lack of support . Some of the teachers are amazing
If you have any child with any type of dyslexia dyscalculia or other SENCO needs this school is not for them .
They only focus on the academic kids , which is my year 3 child . She is academic & instead of giving her extra work ( year 4 work perhaps ) she is being used as a 1 to 1 for a child who is struggling !
A lovely school, good range of sporting activities. Staff are wonderful, caring and dedicated as well as being approachable.
Outdoor area offers plenty of space for sports and activities. Fairly new play area installed just a few years ago. Good range of trips and residential week on year 5 and year 6 allowing the children to prepare for the independence required for secondary/ grammar schools. I Highly recommend this school very happy my child attended here.
