If i could give 0* i would . Do not send your children to this school or attend the sixth form. There are a few lovely teachers who really care about their students and want the best however all admin staff are rude. I also experienced a teacher physically grab me by the shoulders and shake me while i was working . Teachers also had clear favourites which was refected in which students actually passed their A-levels as only those who the teachers favoured were given the tools to pass their exams. During a recent ofsted inspection the school decided exclude pupils they did not want in the school and then proceeded to tell students to only say good things about the college. As a former student i feel incredibly let down by my education and feel i would have suceeded elsewhere as i went form getting top grades to a faluire.

They teach us stuff that primary children learn and it's always the same stuff especially in science. They also never try to understand the children they just suspend them for like 5 days and make them miss out on seeing their friends and learning.
A new form of survival
Want a job where all you do is be belittled by teenagers? Constantly smell BO and tutti-frutti vapes? Where all the toilets are closed due to drug and substance use? well you've found that place.
About a quarter of the classroom have an ecosystem of mould growing from either the ceilings, walls or carpet. The options are endless! Most of the tables are decorated with a mosaic of gum and crude drawings. All the classes are overcrowded and some have to stand up for the duration of the lesson due to the lack of chairs. It doesn't matter since the chairs have mainly become stools. There's also a lottery each year when you may have a tv screen or a projector that works 12% of the time.
Plus, if you want to hear screaming from sleep deprived adults who smell like a rotting coffee machine then you'll be in heaven. most of the staff never want to engage with anyone so there's no need for awkward small talk! Don't worry about the teaching, there's probably a dodgy website you can get irrelevant google slides, AND, a free virus! It's the gift that keeps giving.
But if you just don't like working for the day, there are plenty of mediocre desperate substitutes who will happily supervise a class of Satan spawn. Don't be surprised if the sub then has an existential crisis the following day due to the severity of chaos and cruelty in the classroom. And don't worry if the children don't learn anything. These kids are gonna fail anyway no matter what! With lockdown, the cost of living crisis, feral humans lurking the halls, all they're interested about is survival.
Speaking of the cost of living crisis, do you want to be sick to the stomach with you worries about money. Not knowing if you're going to be able to afford this months electricity bill. Well, you've come to the right place! Each job offers smallest wage the school legally has to offer you, averaging at about 20,000 a year! Perhaps you can scrape enough money together to allow the students to have school books that haven't been mutilated!
Hours worked at TTC are way above your paygrade, though you have no choice. Each night you have to tirelessly mark books with illegible handwriting and ripped pages. Most nights, you'll be staying up way past midnight just to plan a class no one will listen to. So if we calculated how much you would be getting per hour it would be:
195 school days for 6.5 hours= 1267.5 hours
52 weekends and about half of time planning and marking= (26x24) 624 hours
Evenings you spend about 5 hours marking and planning= (195x5) 975 hours
Adding those up would be (1267.5+624+975)=
2866.5 hours
so, 25000/ 2866.5= 8.72143729287
£8.21/ hour
£7.50 is minimum wage hourly rate. So, for the amount of work you are doing, you barely get any reward. How humbling!
Let me now talk about the lovely vermin of TTC, otherwise known as the students. I'd say of the 1800 pupils in our school, only 100 are tolerable. Either they never show up to your lesson since the can't be bothered, suck up to you like a leech, shout profanities and beat up kids, break everything they see or have drastically increased their chances of lung cancer by 110% due to the amount of vaping they do.
You've seriously hit the jackpot if you have the privilege to teach top set. A total of three children will be settled! Compared to lower sets where you have no chance in engaging with the classroom.
If you've had a thought of teaching something to the species of teenager, then you have no chance of entering the teaching field. Your job is to keep the children captive for six hours a day to ensure they don't murder anyone or themselves. Be prepared for anything, they are unpredictable and could escape at any given time!
If you have a concern for a child, there is a whole 5 adults who you can talk to. They won't do noting buts it's nice to have a chat. And they will take each safeguarding matter very seriously and contact their parents. yes, you heard me, they'll thirty seconds of their obviously busy day to say that a child is upset.
There's nothing I can say about the SEND department, they're really nice and have all time in the world for you, It's the kids that infest Curriculum access that really bring the place down. nine times out of ten, the kids in there. don't need any support but just want to bunk lesson. But you can't do because they have a sheet of paper that says you can't do anything.
Most of your day will be dealing with crying girls talking about how their partner won't get a tattoo of them and ow they want to ruin his life. There are many petty crimes you can deal including arson! that's right, the school already has an awful reputation as it is so they never get the police involved. Numerous times kid set things alight in the hallways of buses. Much of it will be really sad emails that they send to 'threaten others' which have been scanned by the overprotective firewall. There are some peculiar pictures you may see in your time a TTC, so there's never a dull moment!
The buses are a whole different kind of apocalypse. Most of the drivers seem to have never driven before, thus leading to many accidents! Many of the kids have experienced being pushed down the stairs of the bus; fights that have caused the bus to slam the breaks so hard, everyone goes flying off their seats; and music that's so bad their eardrums seem to explode.
If you enjoy constant harassment and bullying, insults and anything else vile, then join TTC!
Where you have to break petty fights up due to people playing boyfriend and girlfriend; looking at eyewatering images; and never teach the 'pupils' anything. This school really shows 'survival of the fittest at it's finest'!

Lacks support
Ignorant.there have been situations where someone has report issues such a bullying or sexual harassment where the senior leadershio teams has only ever gone as far as making u write a statement and even if u get others to back your statement your not believed and nothing is done, your just told to "stay away from eachother".ttc is a very homophobic school as they have never properly taken the time to educate us on it as well as a very poor sexual health education class with only the absolute basics of your body and what happens taught. We are never taught diseases we may get and have to look out for other than STI's and we are taught nothing about homosexual relations only hetero. Baring in mind I was only ever taught this at lower as uppers pshe class teaches us nothing.many subject teachers at ttc are absolutely amazing and try to help us as best they can but it's the people who have the ability to really do something (leaderships teams) that are lacking especially when it comes to mental health support.the company that partners with our school foe mental health support are always on campus but the majority or pupils if you asked them wouldn't know where to find them or who to ask to go speak to them with doesnt help when the student might not feel as if they can talk to a parent about calling up the school for a referral. Overall the school needs alot of improvements.

Never listen falsely accuse and punish you all the time my English teacher didn’t even want to teach us she just sat there received no support from me wanting to kill myself and having breakdowns every day their I was flat out laughed at by a teacher

This college is terrible, some teachers are amazing but some are terrible and it is obvious they don't really care....

This school does the bare minimum, there is adequate education but there are many bad things like the lack of lgbt supper and education the uniform seems to be their priority over education and they say they care about students mental health but give no support for those struggling. They care more about sports students and highly academic students than creative students, the food is okay and the environment is in need of an update. The school are terrible at handling bullying and only ever make situations worse.

Good if you work hard, lazy people like to give it a bad wrap. Just need to pull their finger out and work harder tbh.
