I thought I’d seen it all at [School Name], but Jam Sandwich managed to prove me wrong. If you’re looking for a school where bizarre and mildly horrifying events unfold right before your eyes, then this is your place!
The Incident:
Imagine my shock when I walked into the school restroom and found Jam Sandwich cleaning his shoes… in the toilet! Yes, you read that right. The toilet. As if the porcelain throne had suddenly become a DIY shoe washer! It was a scene straight out of a surreal comedy sketch, and trust me, it's an image that’s seared into my brain forever.
I'm a student at this poorly run establishment ("school") and I have been abused by a giant beetroot-looking, child munching, barnacle infested thing that goes by the name of Neil Cripps, never have I ever been so scared for my life. Stay as far away from this place as humanly possible. Please. I'm warning you...
Utterly disgusting, please DO NOT send your children here they will go through immeasurable pain and suffering. Every time I walk through the gate I feel sick, the "Teign Ten" is just an excuse to give pupils unnecessary detentions and add unwanted stress to their already sad lives. The canteen is beyond outrageous, the food shown on the pointless TV screens is way above the standard of the slop we're wasting our family's hard earned money on. Maybe instead of wasting time and resources on stupid TV screens and a WHOLE OTHER CANTEEN for the sixth-formers to use (even though there's only about 10 of them), maybe spend the money on something useful such as: lockers, upgrading ssc or actually maintaining the buildings as there are many areas that have been neglected while stupid A block is being built.
In conclusion: DO NOT PUT YOUR CHILDREN THROUGH THE TORTURE OF TEIGN SCHOOL.
IR IR IR IR IR IR IR IR IR IR IR IR IR IR IR
That is literally all this school believe in.
What a great shame .
You have failed our Children’s future in giving them no inspiration to learn and to do well .
honestly just a crap school. bad teachers who only care if r top buttons r done up and we have r skirts rolled down. the rules here r stupid e.g have 20 minutes out of our 40 minute lunch time in a silent room because we forgot a rubber. dont send ur kids here unless u want to give them suicidal thoughts!
Offers some advice for further life, however does not respect students choices for after education.
multiple accounts of bullying and victim chasing from teachers.
you should stay very far away from Teign for a secondary school choice, there a re much better options than this incredibly bad school and i have 3 reasons why:
1. they do nothing about bullying, even though they say they do
2. they say 'we care about the students mental health' whereas the school does nothing to help with anything to do with that sort of stuff
3. and finally, the head does not care about anything in the school unless it is to with the lunch queue
Absolutely Appalling School, Went for 1 and a half years with 0 support in relation to a consistent string of bullying after the new headteacher was more focused on the posters of pride and anti bullying than the support of pride and anti-bullying.
To any parents: the alternatives of Newton Abbot College, South Dartmoor or (for Y10-11) South Devon College are by far better suited to handle education than Teign School.
horrible experience. Terrible head teacher. Excuses racism, sexism and sexual assault. Can’t forgot about homophobia. while i was there children would throw apple and stones at LGBTQIA+ students. was not okay, and she didn’t do a single thing about it.
I find it ironic how much at Teign ‘School’ they worship mental health. They must have run out of coloured ink for all the posters scattered about the place, each advocating ways to be mentally healthy. Every week seems to be anti-bullying week. I’m sure somewhere within those imposing walls sits a golden shrine praising the importance of mental well-being.
Unfortunately for us students, Teign ‘School’ do not practice what they preach.
Countless times has a student gone to teachers and other staff they were told they could trust, and would always lend a listening ear. Wasn’t that a part of their job, after all? Apparently not.
Students would come to staff with detailed accounts of bullying, or open up about how they are struggling mentally under all the pressure Teign ‘School’ take great pleasure in piling upon you. And would would happen after these issues were brought up?
Nothing.
Any issue brought up was guaranteed to be treated with a dismissive wave of hand.
The ‘staff’ simply do not care.
The only crimes worthy of any sort of punishment that happen here include chewing gum, wearing the wrong shade of grey trousers or walking through the corridor at lunch.
If this pathetic excuse for a school could just bear to spend as much time and resources helping their students that are struggling with actually experiencing any positive emotion as they do on their powerpoints and posters, maybe they could actually follow through with the agenda they so preach.
As a former student at this hell hole, I can say without a slither of doubt that you should only go here if it's more effort than justfied to go elsewhere. The school and it's teachers are far too strict in it's punishments of the most petty acts like e.g. not have the right ruler, they are also the absolute worst at handling bulling, they just make you fill in a form which doesn't exactly make you feel like your being listened too. But undoubtedly the worst thing about the school is how they depicted themselves As if they are somehow some benevolent supreme leadership that will protect the LGBTQ and those of different ethnicity, skin colour etc. Let me tell you, they do NOTHING of use, they just put up some anti bulling posters and expect some skum of the earth racits to just stop then and there after seeing one.
unfair treatment at the hands of the teachers leads to clear division in year groups and within classes, with teachers choosing to take sides instead of solving the issue, choosing to ignore some issues and spoken word in order to continue the press on any student that they feel like
only positive is the good teachers do actually try to help- however their efforts are outweighed by the negatives by others
as well as a horrific bullying culture.
Teachers dont care about any student just as long as they get paid that's all that matterd to them. The bullying is getting out of hand they do nothing about it
The school expelled 3 students for booing at another student (who’s parent works at the school) but let students who had been racially abusing a mixed race student out of isolation after 1 day instead of a week they had also not given a single punishment to students who where throwing food at students for being gay and transgender. The punishment system needs massive improvement and the staff need to be taught about how chewing gum should have less of a punishment than a hate crime.
most teachers care more about what we are wearing than teaching... they would rather us be in isolation for not wearing something correctly and not learning than being in a classroom.. it took a global pandemic for them to put SOAP in the toilets... what is that about??
