The schools inability to gain control on bullying and mental wellbeing
This school is terrible for control of bullying and mental health.
The fact that they segregate the school pupils deemed ‘inappropriate’ for having mental troubles is appalling. 5 Star Oftsted report is ungodly for the bullying and sarky behaviour by certain groups of individuals as the schools major problems are overlooked by the schools ‘safeguarding committee’ and those pupils who receive the issues by the certain groups of pupils are the ones that are being punished. Tells you all you need to know about the care of wellbeing for students. This school is utterly out of control and the care for students that require specific needs aren’t even remotely relevant to those that should be helping them. Everything that causes issues is never resolved and then it is wondered why some students refuse to attend school and furthermore those who do not attend due to specific unresolved reasons are punished for their ‘poor attendance’.
We experienced Bullying, homophobia and racism. Playground violence is rampant. Things that would get anyone arrested anywhere else are just dismissed. This school needs to be put on special measures.
Teachers allow homophobic bullying to continue by giving no punishments to those carrying out the abuse but rather shame and belittling the victims. Mental health is not seen as a priority and there is little support for those struggling pretty much everyone I know including myself suffer from or have suffered from mental health issues whilst at tarporley. This is not important to teachers who believe a rolled up skirt or a untucked shirt is more of a problem then the hundreds of students struggling.
Teachers allow homophobic bullying to continue by giving no punishment to such behaviour instead choosing to shame and belittle the victims of the abuse. This is due to teachers priorities to be on getting grade 9s not the welfare or mental health of their students. There is little support offered for people suffering with mental health issues and everyone I know including myself suffer from a mental illness or have had issues with their mental health whilst at tarporley. In the eyes of SLT a rolled up skirt is worst than any mental health or bullying issue.
Tarporley High School what I can say about this hellhole firstly I hope you like people who are in a fantasy land because anyone who thinks this is a good school needs checking over 2 types of people at tarporley the achiever someone that makes the school look good and teachers will always give extra support to make sure they get their grade 9 and the other kids as one of the other kids I can say you’ll go through this place wishing you had some support teachers will happily tell you your work is bad but won’t help you to make it better. In my eyes this school churns out 3 types of people the ones who do fine, the stoners/drunks and mentally ill kids staff offer no support for mental health really and half of them if you try and talk to them they’ll just try and get the conversation finished asap because no teacher at this school has time for a commoner. There’s also a huge economic gap with the students at this school which especially in the younger years can cause bullying to the people without all the money latest gear and maybe hand me down clothes. There’s a complete lack of empathy at the school.
Super unsupportive staff, most of the slt do not care about any child’s mental health. This school is obsessed with pumping grades out of children to make the school look good
my time at this school was absolute hell. bullying is rampant at this school and nothing is ever done about it. i’ve even found my incident report forms in the rubbish before. the school doesn’t care about the happiness of students.
