yes she does go to this school and she continues to bully younger children in this school. the school haven’t dealt with any of it well enough and she hasn’t been kicked out or anything.
this is a terrible school and no child should have to go through this hell hole, they will accuse you of anything and exclude you with no evidence and nothing to back it. they don’t understand anyone and all they care about is making sure they feel bigger and scarier than students, they’ll scream at you for literally no reason, i’d say being in that school there was only 2 teachers that tried there best understand me and all the rest were ignorant and nasty, i was in this school on and off since they excluded me for very silly reasons and everytime i tried to talk up about this i got ignored and they had no respect, the teachers slag the students off behind there backs which again i find really disrespectful and unfair, they will be nice to you when you first start to try and give you a good impression but as you go on, it is terrible.
Also, they say they care about children’s education, but constantly remove children from lessons for the littlest reasons? i don’t recommend sending your child here, this is coming from a student that went through hell with that school and had to end up leaving early as it was that draining, i don’t understand how it’s even rated a good school, they literally pestered me and even if i asked for 2 minutes on my own all they did was ask and ask questions they wouldn’t let me have some time alone, they don’t know how to deal with any sort of situation and it gets worst and worst as the days go on, trust me, find a better school please don’t let your child go through what a lot of people have gone through with this school.
Absolutely terrible school for mental health and main education
Please if you are reading this, steer clear of this school!! They are terrible with the mental health of their students and do not look after them the way they are trained, they also aren’t very supportive in out of lesson time, such as when a child struggles with homework and they say “email me about it then” but then they don’t reply to the email and that student gets a detention for an incomplete. Honestly I couldn’t wait to leave, and I can imagine most of the students there will either want to leave school or just hope and pray that the years go by quick (that’s how it was with me). I will say however that the creative arts teachers really understand you there.
Tyrannical executive head with zero concern for students wellbeing
This is actually a zero star review.
My son arrived at this school to enter Year 10 in December, COVID having caused us to relocate overseas. In the January, a further lockdown resulted in home schooling with the school taking the stand of "no live lessons", citing safeguarding. Utter nonsense I thought but said nothing. Something they later reversed. It was an appalling showing from a so called "good" school. My son hadn't had time to make friends when students finally returned to the classroom. After a year of school disruption for all children, when he developed severe problems with both feet, had three foot procedures and was told to wear breathable, loose fitting footwear, I was astounded when he was put in isolation (a term used by their own staff) for not wearing leather school shoes. I complained, citing the governments own guidance on uniforms. The executive head decided she was taking charge of the situation. During a meeting with her I was screamed at by her, ridiculed, she attempted to bully and humiliate me in-front of the then headteacher. Who, unsurprisingly, left after a short time and I doubt it was because she wasn't up to the job. She was the professional in the room during that meeting, not the "executive head" who behaved like a screaming peacock displaying its feathers in-front of her newly appointed subordinate. Having felt it would likely be wise, I recorded this meeting - it's scary listening. My sons mental health declined to the extent that he needed medication and counselling. They refused his counsellor from CANW access to him at the school, ignoring her calls and emails. A subject access request revealed he'd talked about self-harm to his tutor but I nor his father were contacted. When my son sent 10 text messages from school stating he was going to harm himself, I removed him. This was shortly prior to his GCSEs. He'd gone from being a top grade student to being estimated grade 3s, 4s or at most 5s at this so called "good" school. Despite his ongoing mental health the school had failed to apply for special consideration from the exam boards until I was forced to complain (again). I was threatened with unauthorised absences being recorded and a fine. I was called a vexatious complainant by Mrs Gwinnett, the bullying executive head. I've received emails from her, with a large number of her staff copied in, in which she effectively called me a bad parent - again, attempted bullying, ridicule and humiliation. Not the standard of behaviour that is permitted under the standards for Headteachers or public figures - which she apparently is. I've been threatened with "conduct monitoring by (their) legal team", in case I dare to publish the recorded meeting with her screaming.
After time at home being tutored he passed all his exams, even a grade 7 in there.
If you have any choice at all, do not send your children to this school. I now have my son back; he is thriving at a truly outstanding college that this school said he likes wouldn't be able to go to.
I went to tarleton in 1991. I was excluded from sports and school trips, because I had epilepsy, but I was not disabled, so this is discrimination. I was excluded from tarleton high school, because I was told I was a obstruction to the class room, when I had a seizure. I had temporalobectomy now I have travelled the world now.
When I first started everythink was great then Covid hit . My teachers change all the time online learning was bad no teacher support as they all left . Office staff are rude if I could go back I would ask my parents to go some where else I now behind other kids my age at different schools . All school where bothered about was yr 11 Geting results rest of us forgotten about
They don’t care if your bullied
Food is good lots of options and dinner ladies are lovely
This school is fairly strict, which can be good sometimes, however they don’t deal with bullying well at all. Students get away with bullying far too often, there are a lot of students who bully or ‘playfully pick on’ other students. Some teachers even brush you off and tell you to deal with it yourself, even if it is to the extent of someone telling you to kill yourself. They do not deal with racism, sexism or homophobia. Even if the bullying goes on for years they don’t seem to do much more than ‘talk to the student’, as they never receive an actual punishment as long as the bullying isn’t physical which can very negatively affect a student’s mental health.
