good for academic straight laced students, bad for literally anyone else. some of the teachers are absolutely awful, they told us they fired the permanent supply who was consistently racist, homophobic, sexist etc then he was back a year later and exactly the same. there are some really great teachers but a lot of them leave the school due to the unfair rules they dont want to enforce. One member of SLT and behavioural stuff in particular SCREAMS abuse at students every single day. I had a really bad bullying situation in year 8 and a member of staff who was FAMILY FRIENDS with the girl who was bullying me was assigned to stop the bullying…safe to say nothing happened at all and it got worse since the girl could now get away with it. I had an alternative phase in year 9 and consistently had teachers talking bad about my appearance to whole classes of students. I also was not the most sporty person and was not enthusiastic enough about P.E. as punishment i had to get dressed into my pe uniform with the teacher and entire class watching me, i didn’t realise how wrong that was until years later, still traumatised to this day from being a 14 year old forced to stand in my underwear with an entire class and grown woman stood in silence staring at me. I also was placed in a class with a teacher who my dad knew from some sort of social setting and she had asked him out and he had rejected her as he had a girlfriend, that teacher made my life hell and would make small comments relating to my dad the rest of the year, i also had my gcses this year and she consistently predicted me a grade 4 even though I was trying my best and couldn’t figure out what more i could do, in my exam i got a grade 8 and my work in that was of the same quality as work she graded as 4. The head teacher doesn’t care about the students and my favourite teacher had left due to disagreements with him which says a lot, he banned the girls from wearing skorts during summer for pe and we had to wear joggers or thick leggings instead. There was a mini student protest and the rule changed back. Overall bad i domt reccomend this school.
Terrible school would not recommend care to much about the uniforms and the toilets rather than education and the bullying what’s happening absolutely disgraceful would never send my child there
Want the children to behave like robots, they are intent on breaking you with meeting after meeting. No consistency in their structure and policy’s, some teachers are rude and aggressive to try get their way, this school has become my worst nightmare for me and my child
The current headmaster of Tadcaster Grammar hides behind letters and is completely unapproachable. He does not have the best interests of the children at heart, and is far more interested in financial matters than the health and well-being of some of the students.
this school is terrible they care more about if your shirt is tucked in more than actual learning do not send your kids here it has made my mental health extremely bad also veru run down facilties the school food is either undercooked or overcooked can get an in between.
awful, they care more about how you look, what youre wearing, makeup, if your nails have varnish on, if you dont have plain studs in your ears, more than your learning, they wanna give themselves a good name but continue to make kids mental health badly
School cares more about making you buy an extortionately priced uniform than students passing their gcses, buildings are such a mess it is hardly humane to have students inside them and some of the teachers are just imbeciles.
This school is the worst school ever people always get bullied and teachers dont do out about it also they let people walk around the corridors in lesson and the new head teacher is rubbish
