I personally think the teaching is poor, teachers have been dropping like flies here for one reason or another. I only have two actual teachers for subjects music and PE. Even then the music teacher is only there half of the time. (As I said for one reason or another.) All the rest of my subjects we haven't learnt anything as the substitute teachers struggle to control the class, granted the kids shouldn't be messing about either but most boys in my classes seem like their only interest to school is to stop others from learning aswell. I have had a substitute walk out on my class and left us sitting there for a good 10 minutes before another teacher came to help.
Another occasion was in English and we were all lined up and waiting when 20 minutes passes and still no teacher one of my friends went down the corridor to see our head of year, she was teaching a year 10 class and had to stop and see us interrupting her own lesson! We ended up getting a PSHE teacher and some sheet work as she didn't know where our books were. English has been terrible overall this isn't the first time a teacher/ substitute has not shown up. Many teachers struggle to get control of the lesson and the ones that do and actually get us to learn something leave. It's a decent school, teachers are overall nice and the timetables are simple and you know where everything is after around 3 days. ( Your child may not learn it as quick as I did but I'd say within a week.) As I said this is my personal experience so you may not have this when your child joins, hopefully they improve but so far it isn't looking good.
