A year 6 threw a chair at me over a fence, and it went COMPLETELY unnoticed, this happened when I was a year seven, and the teachers don't even Rzone you for good reason, I was getting paper balls thrown at me in class from who knows where, I looked around and the teacher said I was talking and got an hour detention for something I didn't do, this school genuinely makes me wanna off myself.
First this is about the toilets, teachers do not let students go to the toilet even if they are very very desperate all they care about is the toilet pass almost all of the toilets are closed at lesson changeover (only 3 minutes!) and most of the locks are broken. When getting a late to lesson and you say you were at the toilets it's apparently always an excuse when it's not??
This school is about as close to a prison as you can get. The lack of care and safety for the children is shocking. If you dare to complain or question the treatment of the child, the primary head teacher will find other ways to enact her petty personal vendetta.
Avoid avoid avoid.
You Disgusting school swindon academy I find with this school I always try my best and there is no awards but the kids that are throwing chairs and being disrespectful get all the attention and rewards i try so hard but I get sweped under the carpet and I have senco but because I am not throwing chairs and being a disturbance they don't care about my senco And some of the teachers are just absolutely disgustingly rude. They expect you to treat them so nicely but they can't even say please This school actually used to be so good. But they're on saying we are the best school in Swindon. But really that's in the past And I always never get Treated fairly and there doesn't seem to be much discipline For example if you are put in rzone in lesson and there's only ten minutes Of the lesson left you'll only be put in rzone for ten minutes And then they are back causing more disturbance and affecting my learning And the school is very unknown rundown. They make the reception look nice and the Outside of the parking. But the bits were the students will only see they will bend a penny on It's absolutely disgusting.
doesn't listen to students. we only get 3 minuteds to get into your lesson and ig your not there in time it's a 30 min detention.and you can't go tooth toilet unless you have a toilet pass. you get zoned for no reason and if you want to come here change your mind!!
My experience here at Swindon Academy in Beech Avenue started off good, but then problems started to arise. Children in the year 3 class that I supplied teaching assistant cover to were unruly and bordering feral. I have never before been somewhere that disciplined children for speaking in class, yet struggled to be authoritive when it came to children drawing over the windows and running in and out of class. During my lunch break, two children came up to me and exclaimed you won't be back, they never come back. They then proceeded to grab a pair of scissors , throw them around the classroom despite my telling them off. They had absolutely no respect for me. Then one of the girls' started swearing. I was in a state of shock so was left speechless. I was appaled that the teacher could be a disciplinarian in some ways, but lacked it when it came to other ways. Suffice to say, I didn't go back. The children didn't 'win', but I am not putting myself in what could be a potentially dangerous situation. However, when I covered in the nursery of the school, the children were delightful, albeit one with learning disabilities, which of course I can make allowances for. I wouldn't recommend working with the year 3's unless you have a tough exterior(tough interior , too). I was thrown into the deep end, with hardly any experience so you'll need to be made aware of what to expect. I can't speak for the overall school, but I can for the year 3's I was helping.
I am a student at this school and it is horrendous as they ignore all sorts of bullying and they are really strict. If you forget a single penny it is an hour detention after school. This school NEEDS to be shut down. There are so many things that are wrong with this school and they try to hide it!
This school is absolutely terrible. The safe guarding is literally non existent. They loose your kids over and over again and fail the kids completely academically. It's a joke and it's so dangerous loosing the children. Anything can happen with unsupervised children that some how get lost
The education part is really good and at a high standard but teachers ignore homophobia, racism, islamaphobia and hate speech in general. Students can be publicly transphobic, ableist and say slurs towards other students and have no consequences. Personally I’ve had students call other students slurs in class and a teacher not say anything even though they are present. There is no attempt at all to solve these issues.
This school is rubbish, there's no sense of good discipline, most students get away with everything and when they started us in options as soon as a kid was naughty once they were kicked out of that option leaving them to not be able to obtain a gcse limiting what they can do for their next steps after secondary school
Education is okay and the covid 19 policies are followed, but some of the rules lack common sense and most students suffer from mental health issues. Students sometimes get called to the hall to get screamed at. There is sexualization of girls (even in year 7) and trans phobia among some teachers. Meals provided are also very unhealthy. If students try to address these issues/raise complaints, they are ignored or simply given a lecture.
