This school is fantastic and I’m so glad I have had the opportunity to go here. I am not quite ready to leave yet but I know when the time comes it’ll be hard to say goodbye! This school has helped me so much. Despite a lot of things happening to me over my time at Stroud High School, the teachers have never stopped supporting me and most importantly have never given up on me and my abilities. They provide constant support to anyone who needs support mentally or with school work so it’s not all about grades and exams. Personally, I am not an academic person and I am very creative but they don’t put pressure on me to get the best grades. It’s the amazing standard of teaching that gets the good grades and the support they give, not the pressure which some people may think is put onto students by teachers. We also get amazing extra curricular opportunities that not many others can say they’ve had and I’m truly thankful that I’ve had these opportunities as they’ve allowed me to grow as a young person. The only issue is that students can compare theirselves due to the high achieving environment but there is never any pressure from anyone else. 10/10 :)

School was not very accomodating to LGBT people and some of my friends were also picked out by teachers for their race. Some teachers were very good whilst others did not teach to the same standard. Plus exceptional stress placed on students to achieve high grades and keep class averages high. Sex education was also very poor.
Decent but had issues around my 2nd year that led me to not enjoy the school. Wasn’t challenged enough in some subjects which left the higher achievers bored. The teachers are mostly nice but there are a few bad ones that really affect your learning. Overall, an all girls grammar school can get very toxic, and this school- perhaps unknowingly, overly preaches feminism and also superiority over comprehensives which can really get to you. Glad I left, but got good results. I just wish there were more opportunities, and the sport wasn’t so elitist.
