Recently I have applied for a job shadowing in the school. The first email that I exchanged with the person in charge of these matters was of total eagerness; they were pleased to welcome a foreign teacher! Well, in order for me to visit the school, I needed an invitation letter signed by the principal of the school, which, in theory, was not that difficult, or is it? Yeeees! A total Odyssey! After almost a month keeping me exchanging emails where they demanded me lots of paperwork, promising me the completion of this letter of invitation -once the whole paperwork was fully settled and thus discarding the chance to get to know some other more prestigious high schools, given the circurmstances- JUST THE DAY BEFORE the deadline to submit this letter of invitation, they sent me an email with a senseless argument: they had already received the whole paperwork, but they could not sign me the letter because there was another Spanish English teacher applying for the same post! How is it possible that they had another "presumed" proposal and did not get to know it until I was about to get this letter? Two possible answers: 1. the management of the school leaves much to be desired or 2. (what I am more inclined to think: they are lying). The appaling school management has had both serious professional and emotional implications on me which are irreparable. This is how an English, presumably serious, institution works. Spanish colleagues, do not you ever dare to apply for this school!
Awful school. Teacher’s care more about students wearing blazers 24/7 and uniform (even during summer) than anything else. They don’t care about mental health and don’t do anything to help. Even the sixth-form is awful- students are treated like children and I cannot stress enough how much the teachers don’t care about the students, they just care about the school looking good- no wonder there’s so many misbehaving kids.
The school is racist and do not encourage other the ethnic minority students. Lots of parents have complained to the school in which their children have been treated yet they do nothing about it.
Disgusting school. Destroys all mental health. Teachers dont care about you. Bad teaching. Bad environment. Kids who think theyre better than everyone else. Wont let you go home even iif youre crying/ having a panic attack/ about to faint from stress ETC. Pointless made up rules that makes the students even more upset. Controlling. Messing with our brains. Overall please dont come to this school you will be in hell.
Disgusting. School says that they care about you but thats all lies. They want to make the school look good by making us act all happy. Wont send you home when you cry unless you love the school. Horrible children who think they are better than everyone else. It really damages mental health. Overall this school is the worst.
Decent school. A lot of subject to choose from for your gcse options. Students have access to good facilities. Some teachers are quite strict though but some are lovely! The kids are pretty nice too.
