Overall review of Stillness Junior School

Stillness junior school wasn’t great. First of all, all of the teachers were leaving so we didn’t have enough staff, so in year 6 we had other classes from the year squeeze into our classroom, and there was basically 1 class in year 6 instead of 3 because we didn’t have enough staff and most of the teachers would take weeks off school for no particular reason.

Second of all, the headteacher was completely out of touch with all the students, she was horrible and only cared about uniform. Every assembly was about how we look and how we shouldnt have nail polish on or earrings in, she was very unprofessional and didn’t care about students well being and mental health.

Third of all, the majority of the teachers were terrible. My music teacher was so out of order, she basically just hated her job and hated kids and shouted at us and made us line up outside in the cold if she heard someone say ONE word. In year 5, we had a lovely teacher who left to play rugby all the way in HongKong. The school handled it horribly, and we had a different substitute teacher every day for about 3 months. Then the school finally chose a teacher for us, and she was so rude, she would make the students cry over tiny mistakes that they made in their work or in class, and she would give everyone dirty looks from across the classroom, she was always in a bad mood and told us mentally abusive things. Same with my year 4 teacher.

Lastly, the headteacher would show us very traumatic things, like in assembly she would show us bullying and racial abuse videos and all of the year 3s and 4s needed to watch too, she also brought in a woman to talk about being safe on public transport, and she showed us videos of kids being ran over by a double decker bus, and children falling into the train tracks and getting ran over and electrocuted and it honestly scared me, but there was also 7 year olds watching, and i cant imagine how scared they were.

On a good note, there was a heck of a lot of drama between some nasty girls, me, and a few other girls in year 5 and 6, and the teacher that helped us out was lovely, and did a lot to help with the arguments and gossiping, and without her i probably would have left the school.

Overall i dont recommend this school.
