St Thomas More High School

i am a current year 11 student who goes to this school and can honestly say every aspect of this school is a shambles and this school should be immediately shut down as i do not know how it hasnt crumbled within itself. the school has a massive behaviour problem, over 80% of teachers are unable to effectively control the riot-like patronizing behaviour presented by students. in my RE class, lit on fire paper balls are often thrown across the classroom, alongside shards of glass and chairs (smashing a window at one point, slt called up, nothing done). if you are thinking of sending your child here, you are signing them up to an inevitable death wish, do not be fooled by the schools catholic ethos, it is fake. whilst also attending this school, i have been victim of a plethora of sexual assault incidents alongside other peers of my year group, making me so depressed at certain points in time i attempted to kill myself in the RE toilets. the whole year 11 cohort for the matter are massively underachieving, on the recent mock exams people from set 5-9 were getting presumptuously better grades than those even in set 1 and 2, mocking the schools ill-run systems (which do not work at all). i can not even put into words how much this school has broke me into peices, im not even alone with this. more over, the school is genuinley chaotic and unclean and unsanitary.. cigarretes are often found in the schools food and the toilets are the most vile thing to exist, at points the mirrors were also removed momentarily due to a student's hygiene concern and removed as some sort of thret or punishment.

i feel bad for those who are still attending this school and those who currently work for this corrupt headship and management, i strongly urge you all to go elsewhere and to not fall into the trap.

This is a dreadful school, no matter what gloss the staff try to put over it.
Really lives up to its shambolic reputation. Majority of students are undisciplined, and many are very anti-social.

teachers are overworked, have frequent mental breakdowns and are literally bullied by the students as they are so horrid

bullying, fighting, gang crime, drugs, knife crime are a common issue amongst the school

this school has been hell for the past 5 years of me being here the current year 10s going into year 11 and year 9s going into year 10 are horrible selfish gremlins that should be eaten by the gates of hell
they genuinely make their teachers cry

Good catholic school, teachers are able to control lessons well and teach students well. Your child doesn’t have to be catholic to attend. Best school in Southend!
