What you should know before applying your kid to St Peter’s
I used to have a tutor who got suspended multiple times for inappropriate behaviour between students I asked the head teacher why he is still allowed in this school after calling many girls pretty fat shaming a boy and putting his hand on a girls thigh. Two years later he told us he was retiring but he works in another facility. There’s a women who needs male validation from yr 11 students who recently have left due to GCSEs. When I was in yr 8 of this school I watched someone get yelled at by the teacher for not being able to read very well she asked for a reading ruler and the teacher said no and made her continue reading out until she was crying her eyes out. There were rats under the bleachers and we weren’t allowed in there for a couple weeks. The headteacher doesn’t leave his office and doesn’t make effort to connect with pupils. On our leavers assembly right after our head of year gave a lovely speech the head teacher came out. He said he sometimes sees us in shops and thinks to himself he might be able to guess our name and expected us to clap after this was said. Whereas our head of year was lovely and actually resolved issues as well as the school Chaplin and our old head of behaviour this is why I’m giving the school two stars. They would catch up on people who have to go to i.e ( internal exclusion) on the days they found out offsted came so the ‘naughty kids’ wouldn’t get in the way of their report. The only thing I think I’ll pass is maths because the only helpful teacher I actually got was a teacher called ms England and another good one was mr brown
I have been here since year 7 and enjoy every part of it! Teachers are lovely! And the whole environment is brilliant if you don’t make it hard for yourself! I am part of the student council and I love working beside the teachers to make our school a better place!
I thrived at St Peter's. Many of the departments are amazing and there are so many wonderful teachers who will do anything to help you achieve the grades you're capable of.
However, St Peter's has lost its reputation of having an exceptional Modern Foreign Languages department. So if languages are really important to you or your child, I would not recommend St Peter's.
That being said, they offer a huge range of extra curricular activities that allow you to unlock your potential and build your character as well as teaching you how to cooperate with other students on projects that you would not be able to complete alone.
I am an trans student and the school was ever so accepting and helped me to take the first steps in accepting who I was and stopping gender and sexuality based bullying from other students.
All in all, I am very proud to have been a student at St Peter's and hope that people will continue to thrive in this amazing school.
