Poor school

This school is far worse then you could imagine send provision isn't fit for purpose, there are some amazing staff( TAs and late lady's) but the they are lost in the extremly poor managment of this school..
Certain staff have no understanding of disabilitys and even mock the children and swear at them.personally if I was looking for a secondary school again for my child I would avoid this one at all costs
It hasn't got any better but worse of that was possible

Shit school.

This school is the WORST. Would never put my kids through the trauma of going here if I have any. There was a knife attack which caused a lockdown, children get high off of ecstasy that they apparently get off TEACHERS. Even the teachers are too scared to come in because of how feral everyone is. Please do NOT send your kids here

Incompetent to say the least

An absolute disgrace if you want incompetent people to teach your children, st Matthews is definitely the way to go. If you want a school that would not dream of accepting responsibility for their failings, yet again, st Matthews is for you.

Not good school, needs heavy improvement

This school is not good, the school looks musty, its like they never understand what we would like, the teachers are nice but act like friends with the bad students, it takes a really good teacher to actually have a decent lesson and learn, a big no-no, they act unprofessional most of the time, the school building is cramped, the items an furniture looks old and musty, did i mention we barely get school trips, things that need repairing arent dealt with. I have hopes for this new headteacher to make our school better. A positive is, the food is good.

Amazing

It's a great school I don't know why people find it so bad except from all the misbehaved kids with mental health problems their perfectly fine!

School is fine

Okay at situations
School handling b*llying well compared to others i hear about. Serious on boundaries and misbehaviour. The school is improving well. I hope they can improve on student behaviour and mental health . but their are some very ill behaved kids (v*peing, destroying property, fightd
s, b*llying, disrespecting teachers etc.), they are taking actions on them so i hope there will be a cut down on those situations. Anyways okay but a bit overpopulated in students school and tasty food, 7/10

Okay!

The food is good, cool uniform, trips are really fun if you have the chance to go, teachers and staff can be really nice and funny, very diverse, studentd can be nice and funny, a few fun activities, many opportunities, very comfortable school, pretty safe environment. Negative reviews always like to exaggerate smh, but i wont sugarcoat it i will tell you some negative things too. Many fights, ill behaved students (they are being dealt with finally), lenient school, can be too strict, some mean teachers, limited activities and trips. Overall rating is okay needs improvements. Recommrnd 8/10

Okay not as bad as others say

Ignore troll comments, all are just exaggerating! The school isn't as bad as they say it is, it just can be better the food is delicious too and the uniform is unique, many good students but also ill behaved kids though, school should learn to be less lenient to them. Like the money they spend to recover damages from bad kids, the money they couldve used for trips and more. Overall, i would rate the school as great if they had more improvements but okay for now.

Stop the trolls from giving bad reviews !

My daughter started at the school in September.
I was really worried about her going to this school because of all the horrible reviews and rumours.
She's quiet and lacks confidence. I thought she was going to hate it.
Since going to St Matthews she's received lots of praise and positive feedback from the teachers. She's made lots of friends, improved considerably in her subjects and become more confident.
She absolutely loves it there and I'm so happy.
If children want to learn they will.
The school is amazing and the teachers are too.
Stop the trolls from giving bad reviews.

Poor working conditions

I was a teacher in this school. I’ve worked in around 30 schools on supply over 15 years. I worked in this one for 6 years and it’s the worst school I have ever taught in. The kids were lovely, kids are kids! They behaved well for me because I showed them respect, but some teachers didn’t partly due to the poor management. I’m glad I got out when I did, but still feel sorry for the children in attendance that have been left behind.

St matthews review

I hate this school so much, constant fights and arguments and the teachers do not care, teachers give little to no care about the childs education except a certain few, the lunch situation is terrible as alot of foods run out before people even get there

Do not send your kids here!

All round dreadful. Don't send your kids to this school. There are far too many 'teachers' who aren't qualified to teach the alphabet, on power trips and treat the kids as objects to use for their sick sense of entertainment, and far too little that genuinely care about the kids and want the best for them. The majority of staff are compulsive liars fuelled by the misery of their students who shy away from communication with parents when the families have had enough and want to know what is going on. They have refused to sign transfer papers for other students whose parents want them out of that school. I cannot wait to plaster my experiences with this school all over the media if they try this stunt with my child.

St Matthew's rc High school

It's an okay school. I got in by all my choices being rejected but I did have an encouraging time during Year 7. I think this school is quite good in some deliveries of lessons but there are a small amount of teachers in some subjects and too many teachers in another set of subjects.
