mmmm school, not long left now, I have been telling myself for years this, soooooooonnnnn!
soon my child, it will be over soon.
I am a former student of St Martins school. I attended here of the years 2018-2021. Due to ongoing persistent issues of bullying I had no other choice than to leave. These issues were ongoing for months, not only I had made my teachers aware, but so had my parents. A number of phone calls and visits to my head of year and still nothing was done. The school as a whole is alright, its just run down, and behavior of students means others are punished and don't have access to the toilets during lessons, other than break times and lunch. The toilets aren't the cleanest either which is really unhygienic. My sister is currently in year 7 (2023) and any issues she has are raised to the teachers, some issues have been fixed and others haven't. St martins school sort yourself out.
This school was good in some ways. They had nice teachers (some)
i was bullied throughout school, hardly much action was taken (expect maybe a few times in year 8/9) but sexual harassment was a huge issue, like they didn’t even care that boys would say such things to me and my mates. and they made silly expections for certain students who clearly were capable of going in. and the food in the canteen was either out of date/inedible or tolerable. adding on that they had obvious favourites, causing others to fail.
Started in 2017 and had a great time I’m in my last year now with only a few months left. I would recommend this school to anyone. It’s one of the best in Shropshire with great staff and students. It’s also a really supporting school for people who are part of the LGBTQ+ 🏳️⚧️ 🏳️🌈.
I went here and started in 2015 and left in 2020 just before lockdown rolled in. You have support if you need it and they help anyone who is struggling. It had it's up & downs, but don't all schools do. The food at the canteen needs improvement but that's the company's fault that the supply no the dinnerladys/men. It gets better as you go through school Untill exam season that when it gets stressful for everyone but you will get one to one support with the teachers. They have a nice big field that is used for PE. It is open in Summer so you can go their. But we all have that one teacher that is a bit n0πcey the IT teacher. Keep away from him LOL!
pastoral is terrible the lady in charge of it is nosey and gets too involved in students , they are more worried about your nails and tie length than bigger issues such as the state of the toilets and the fact that barely any of them lock , there’s never toilet roll and there’s never soap, even during this pandemic , the head teacher is so interested in getting gcse grades up (which she has done fair play) that she has barely any time to deal with other importance’s. the supply teacher flirts with all the boys in my year since year 9 and many of the teachers have “favourites” making others feel left out or badly taught . the new water fountain is scourged from a tank of water that sits there all day meaning that the water tastes so bad we choose not to drink it because it’s been sat there and we dint know how often it is replaced. our tutors have been changed in our last year of school meaning that the majority of us do not feel comfortable opening up and talking to our new tutors , we feel it makes sorting future plans and college plans a lot harder as they are still getting to know us . last year before lockdown the student voice decided to change the food supplier because the food was expensive and portions were small however they weren’t listened to and they changed the supplier to the cheapest option , the food went up in price and the portions got smaller , i once paid £1.80 for 3 potato wedges and a children’s sized portion of lasagne , it leaves us hungry during lessons and is a waste of money .
