Absolutely love this school! My daughter started in pre school and is now in reception and couldn’t be happier here. Her reading and writing is brilliant and it amazes me how much she is learning each week. All the staff we have encountered have been so friendly and I think it’s lovely that they stand at the gates each morning (in all weathers) greeting the children and know them all by name.
This school, in our experience was not at all the best example of a Catholic school.
We had 2 children there that, with most other children that attend, needed tutoring to stay in line with their peers from other schools.
This added to sever bullying and aggressive behavior from the staff in all levels my older child experienced, forced us to move schools. This is when our eyes were opened as to how bad this place really was. We have spent thousands trying to hold this school accountable as we are not the only family that has suffered at the hands of their staff.
We even had a statement from them that they are “under no obligation to safeguard my child as an individual”.
Please be very aware when you apply to this school. Take a look around get a feeling of it. Listen to the teachers discipline the young children at the top of their voices. Watch them stand over them and intimidate them.
Also please look at their staff turn over. It’s always a sure indication if a poor environment.
Please also note that you will also spend a small fortune on private tuition to have your child read, write and do math at a national average as the education here only reflects the affluent parents.
Best school there is. The poor funding and dismal school meals really make it hard to like. That’s why I love it because everyone knows it and just gets on with it.
