This school is horrible . I would give this school 0 star but unfortunately I can’t . The teachers don’t know how to teach , you get detentions for mistakes ( the schools are supposed to teach you and make you learn by mistakes but instead there punishing you for no reason )and things that you didn’t even do . It’s ridiculous! The teachers are so unfair and target pacific children and make them feel uncomfortable, bad about them selves and put too much pressure on them and clearly have favours. This unpleasant school also threatens there poor pupils and controls them .Right now I’m in year 7 and our head of year is just awful , she on purpose picked on pacific kids and is very unpleasant to them and to other kids she acts like the best person in the world even if they did something so wrong then it’s completely fine .The teachers yell at you , lie to you and don’t respect you or your qualities , they just care about themselves cause there selfish and self- serving. I had only been in this school for less than a month and started already hating it and now I had just had enough so I decided to go write a review to let people know not to make the same mistake as I did by coming to this dreadful school. Please don’t come to this school , you will regret it and suffer so much . Overall this school will break you and you will feel pain because of the staff and students.
Its an amazing school. We love it. My daughter was terribly bullyiend in her pre prep school. She arrived to SJ completely broken. This school gave me my daughter back. It is a very caring environment. It’s small so the staff and teachers know each girl. The academics are very good as well. It works for families tgat want their girls to be cared for and protected.
Homophobic school, I was asked if I was a lesbian when I attended the school as a student. My form teacher and deputy head asked me questions for an hour about if I was a lesbian with a girl a year older than me, we had done nothing. Asking very inappropriate questions. Also as a hindu I was not OK with dissection but I was forced to stay. This school gives it students crippling anxiety, I still have nightmares about this school, I'm 26 now with ptsd! Also I was kicked out of all science and language classes(except English) so their gcse scores looked good, I wasn't the only one this happened to.
Also the teacher made us say the n-word when reading aloud from to kill a mocking bird and singled out the only black girl in our class asking her opinions, making her very uncomfortable.
They also employed an unqualified alcoholic sports teacher (head mistress told us this fondly in assembly on his last day) he shook so much, he could not even draw a straight line. He would walk into the girls changing rooms backwards. There was a male physics teacher would get changed in the girls changing and would come in whilst we were still in there, he excuse was there are no boys changing rooms, the other teachers did nothing. I could go on.
