As a parent with significant experience in education and child welfare, this school is poor. There are some nice and kind teachers who try to work positively with children but I feel their hands are tied by senior management. Most of the good teachers have recently left on mass. Pastoral and safeguarding have very little experience of mental health and due to their ignorance they make childrens mental health worse. Many parents pull their children out due to this in year 10 and 11 and either home school or try another local school. However most local secondary schools are managed by same academy trust and I feel the culture and ethos comes from above. Very little positive praise to children but very quick to jump on negative behaviour. School do not manage behaviour well and treat children like second class citizens.
Really bad school, I’ve cried every day going here and I tried to kill myself after only a year from this school, I beg you do not let your children go… they put poison in school meals and rob your money out your bags are in the PE changing rooms.
They gave me a behaviour point because I did not have a pen, even tho my mum is a single parent who doesn’t have a proper job and works so hard to get me all I need, I only have half the uniform and they screamed at me for not having the blazer and tights, I cried all night.
It’s okay sometimes. Some of the teachers aren’t good and say questionable things to students. Makes me miserable. Need a longer lunchtime, NO MORE STUDY PLEASE. I like pe tho
