Still basking in past glories of an outstanding Ofsted inspection from ten years ago, school has changed a lot since then. Headteachers have come and gone, most recently mid year which is never a good sign. Teaching staff turnover is high and again there are far too many mid year departures. School looks after the brightest students well, but this is the easy part as these are the motivated and shows ones who would do well in any school. All the other children have a much more variable experience. The Senco support has been particularly weak with no permanent Senco for a long period , only resolved at the start of this 2023-24 year. Homework is erratic and disorganised, with many teachers not setting any and not using Teams. Several just set online tasks like Sparx, Tassimo or Languagenut. Easier for the teachers - no marking. Also there is a problem with discipline at the school with poor behaviour and attendance issues. The school has recently made some positive changes in this area but still uses detention and internal exclusion far too frequently.
As a parent, I’ve come across the frequent selling of drugs on the school bus in front the younger ages; vicious behaviour; spoiled an 18th Birthday party by instigating a brawl / fight, vandalising a lad’s car who goes to another school, punching, scratching and loutish behaviour against other boys from different schools.
Shocking. Catholic or not, do these boys not grow out of feral behaviour around 17-18 years’ old? What’s the school instilling here..or not?
banging school students are bare fun the teachers are calm too and help when ur struggling so ye good school 10/10 foods banging educations banging everything is banging
Spent 5 years at this school, one of the best in the area. Couldn't complain. There are in fact many people who can help you out, they all love to talk. I would definitely recommend taking a look round before you decide this isn't the place for you.
