Horrible ableist school, my legs were kicked from another student and I couldn't walk for days, I was made fun of for my disability and they did nothing.
Ex cleaner at cuthbert mayne given too much to do for 3 hours work communication isn't great at all, support isn't there, no one cares about how they clean it's half assed.
prime example mouldy food in changing room insects not hygienic is it. Bins not emptied for god knows how long in that section and a mountain full of bottles shoved in a cupboard.
Also because they can't get anyone to work in that area they will leave it and leave uncleaned not very professional or hygienic. Not very well maintained either. And they're rude some of them not friendly. Stressful workplace.
This school is awful. Let’s hope your child does not get bullied as they don’t care. Nothing is done about it at all! There is no middle ground. They have gone from not having any control over the pupils who do things like tip the tables over to now if they breath the wrong way they get suspended! Mental health- doesn’t matter in this school. The child is suspected to deal with it! My daughter got suspended because they said she was bunking when in fact she went to the toilet but couldn’t get in a cubical as they were all occupied by kids vaping! As she took too long…. Suspended. Oh and let’s home they don’t get sent to isolation! Sometimes they forget to offer your child any food!
Personally along with my others school friends we think the school is very bad.we have all agreed the teachers/pastoral do nothing about bullying or harassment,Pnce I ran crying to the head teacher because a student was following my friends around harassing them, tormenting them while I had to just listen to my friends cry about the kids, one of my friends are now being homeschooled because of all of this bullying/harassment. The teachers can be very nice but most of the good teachers are leaving because they know they deserve better treatment than what they get.Teachers talk about wait as if it’s nothing like one time one of my teachers said “you need to eat nice and healthy to be nice and skinny!” And also said “There is some very fat kids in this community” and everyone looked at this one overweight kid in my class,it disgusted me how she said that and embarrassed that poor kid.very bad school needs so much more improvement!
They don’t care about bullying or homophobia!! Teachers aren’t supportive enough. Behavior is very poor. If you get threatened they don’t do much to help. Overall a really bad school.
Poor school,no anti bullying policy, the staff never return your calls as a parent.removed my daughter due to bullying and no assistance given, just told to go into class with the forementioned bullys.avoid this school like the plague.
Do not go here this is a horrible school i have never had a worse experience in my life the teachers ate rude
Its expensive
There is loads of homework
You get bullied and no one does anything
I have very mixed feelings about this school. On one hand, the teachers are very friendly and mostly seem to care that you leave with good grades. The facilities are OK, but don't expect a modern science block or good computers (unless you take media). I don't have much to say about the pastoral support, as I never had to use it, but others said that it wasn't any good; bullying was rarely confronted despite pledges against it and very little action was taken to make students feel more safe. The school had a Student Voice Council, but it was simply an illusion of choice, as meetings were rare and very few improvements were made as a consequence of them. As a senior student (prefect) I had next to no responsibilities to carry out during the school day, instead being offered to help out with students homework after school (note that this was year 11 and I had to revise for exams). On the topic of homework, it became almost non-existent after Covid (save for maths), with few teachers setting it irregularly. Student uniform and discipline was atrocious, with a large portion of every class being halted for the sake of a missing tie or pen. Lower set classes were even worse and could regularly be heard from down the hallway. Time was also wasted due to the school's compulsion to indoctrinate us into the Christian faith. Yes, it's a Christian school, but that shouldn't justify daily acts of worship for 20 minutes, nor termly services that clearly bore everyone to death. The only positive I can see from going to a faith school is that you take the RE GCSE by default, but I can see many people seeing that as a negative. The school is clearly far underfunded that other schools in the country, however, that shouldn't excuse the level of neglect shown by the teachers to our welfare and academic capabilities. Fortunately I was given to opportunity to take a GCSE early, however I feel that other schools could have done an even better job of catering to the more talented students, instead of ensuring that eveyone is just 'ok' .
Hated this school so much it was utter hell the bullying Is horrendous nothing is ever done even when the police have to get involved they do jack shit only good thing about this place was the food
This school is really bad. Their homework system is discracefull. The teachers don't support you and if you need extra help they don't give it to you. The pastoral support is aporling they don't tell you who to go too. Their maths homework system SPARX is confusing and it isn't baced on the work you have done in class.
The school is full of homophobic teachers and faculty and they turn a blind eye to most bullying and make transphobic comments. This is one of the most hate filled schools in the bay and I strongly recommend you keep far from it
