I moved to this school in October 2021 after ongoing issues that were not resolved in my previous school. When I moved, the school were really helpful with knowing and reaching the support I needed, they offer after school sessions focusing on mental health, going through different strategies and what support can be found inside school.
I got along with all my teachers and thanks to their hard work and dedication I successfully passed all of my GCSES. However, I found that there was endless supply teachers for certain lessons. In year 10 I found myself with 5 different chemistry teachers, yes FIVE. Other lessons such as art I found myself with 3 different art teachers in year 10 and 11. With English having 3, as my teacher went on maternity and we had a supply who wasn't even an English teacher.
These aren't the only subjects who had regular supply teachers.
As a catholic school we are required to participate in catholic celebrations such as mass, ash Wednesday ect. I am not Catholic myself but I found that we were not forced into the religious side of it.
Bullying was a big issue for me in my previous school, I found that St Cecilias were good when there were any issues that needed to be resolved.
If your in the area and looking for a school for you or your child to go to I would recommend St Cecilias over Longridge High. Like many others schools St Cecilias is not perfect, but they care for their students safety and wellbeing as opposed to Longridge.
