The School has struggled in the past few years with 3 different heads lots of supply teachers and subject teachers that don’t seem to know the subject this has affected the students experience. My daughter has moved now as she just stopped wanting to go and make an effort and when I asked for support they didn’t give her any the pastoral care is quite poor.
They never chased up when she was off school so often or even spoke to her about why she wanted to leave or made any effort to turn it around for us.
They lost quite a few students for the same reasons it’s a shame and hopefully it will get better if the new head sticks around but I think it will take quite a few years to turnaround back to what it was.
I remember one day the boys were made to line up in the hall, and if your hair touched your collar he would grab you by the hair and shout “get it cut”! I was 12 at the time.
Horrible time , for the last 3 years I have not had a consistent teacher who has lasted for a year . Pastoral cannot deal with any issues at all , stood up for racism and they didn't even suspend the other person even though there were multiple people who saw . They have exams at the weirdest times and they always stress students .
The sixthform is surely underfunded as the facilities are non existent for sixthformers . The management has no idea what is ever happening as announcements often get made on the day.
My child moved there due to problems at another school and he is so happy here.
Lots of new teachers have really helped and there is a fantastic atmosphere in the school. Really friendly staff and my questions were answered promptly.
Would definitely recommend due to all the positive changes
Unable to identify bullying within the school place resulting in parents taking matters into their own hands (aggressively) the school have no understating of safe guarding and do not monitor the school playing field where the fights go unnoticed.
A very bad school decision on our behalf as this has caused significant harm to a child’s mental health
St Benedicts, Alcester needs to be investigated and I will be taking my concerns further as when raised with the school no interest to resolve was shown.
Academically it's not brilliant but definitely passable (there's a lot worse in the area). There is quite a bit of bullying between both students and teachers. Has lots of after school clubs.
